  1. what are the effects of using Active noise cancelling headphones to acheive noise isolation while using a vr headset like the htc vive.

is there any benifit to using anc headphones in terms of immersion or is there no difference?

And if there is a benifit is the extra immersion worth it or is to dangerous

  2. Hi,

I was wondering if using a pair of audio technica anc 9 for gaming and vr would be a good idea. Do they have good spatial sound for games that need it like counter strike ? Will the active noise cancelling and comfort help with vr immersion significantly?

    ****NOTE****

I already have a pair and would rather not buy another pair of headphones

  3. Hi,

Im looking for the best headphones/Headset for the htc vive and general gaming. My budget is $150 USD at the most. Should I get 'gaming headphones' (the Logitech artemis spectrum is the only one i like) or should i get more traditional headphones and a separate mic in the same budget? and if so what should i get?

Short answer is yes. The only issue is you need a router that supports that function or supports a 3rd part firmware like DDWRT. I did this from a time, and its a pain in the ass, from what I remember.

My spare router doesn't so I guess I can't do this

  5. So I need help to turn one of my old routers (a 2wire 2700hg-b) into a range extender/repeater. I want it to  connect my computer (that has no wireless connection) to the Internet via the old router and a Ethernet cable(my computer is a floor above my main router)

    How do I do this??

VR is the new trend and is pushing gamer's to upgrade their PC's and get ready! However haven't we seen this hype before? VR is nothing new and have seen the thought many times over in games, movies and books. What is If we could only combine our wii motion controls with nvidia 3d vision at 4k we would rule the world. Seriously though who is VR targeting? Rich single bachelors with expendable income. This doesn't sound like it can possibly get the support that is needed to take this great idea of VR and make it functional and practical. What do you guys think?

Have you ever tried a flagship vr headset? The games might look like wii games but the experience and immersion makes buying the headset almost worth it.

Also the reason the games aren't the best is because VR is such a new thing there has not been enough time for developers to experiment, optimize and develop the games we want.

There have been developers who are trying to use nvidia 3D vision in there games /experiences like Everest VR

With a desktop GTX980 in it! Yeah not likely

definitely not gonna happen considering that the GTX line of cards are for gaming and the mac is not for gaming they will probably just add a new quadro or a new fire pro since macs are made for Video/picture/audio editing (thats why apple makes final cut ,motion, etc)

  8. Since none of us came out of the womb a techie (except for Linus of course) , I was wondring what stupid things you guys did/said before Linus showed you the light of the techie world .

When I was younger one of my cousin asked me what specs of a laptop is good and I told him that for the laptop to be any good the cpu must say Intel and the numbers after the word intel were meaningless I also said the graphics card must say AMD or Nvidia and the numbers and letters after those words were also meaningless and for the ram i told him you don't need to worry about the amount since you can always download more. I remember also telling him to get the smallest capacity hard drive since it would make the computer run faster and so he spent his savings on a really horrible laptop(he still hates me for this).

  9. Your idea wouldn't work since low latency is necessary without it you will experience all kinds of motion sicknes and you won't feel immersed at all.

one of the reasons the vive is (arguably) the best vr experiences out there is because of the almost zero latency with the screen, the game, the controllers ,etc
