Oh I see, So any motherboard/ram that works well with the 2600 will work with the 1600af sweet! I’ve been looking at the Msi b450 tomahawk as it has many good reviews and seems well priced for the features it has. Any thoughts on something that might be better bang for the buck? I don’t really need things like WiFi since I sit right next to my router and just use an Ethernet cable or Bluetooth and such but those luxury’s would be nice to have.

Hello Everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve been on this forum/built a new pc so I’m a little confused on all the recent stuff surrounding ryzen. I’m a broke college student but my old rig isn’t able to run the games that I play anymore and I’ve decided to finally upgrade. My original rig is an Amd fx-6300 with 12 gigs of ram and a Gtx 950. My processor is consistently pinned at 100% when playing games like battlefront 2 or other triple a games while running discord and such in the background so I’ve decided to upgrade that first. I’ve Watched some reviews online but I’m still confused on what would be a good mobo/ram combo for the ryzen 5 1600Af. People say the 1600 af is similar to the ryzen 2600 and since it’s cheaper I will just go with that but does that mean it’s affected by the ram speed issue and such and if it’s similar can I use the same motherboards? If someone could help clarify things for me that would be amazing. If you have any questions feel free to ask
