Based on some vids on YT benchmarking it, I highly doubt the 5600G can get 144hz on any of your listed games, even on 1080P.

If you want 144Hz, its a bare necessity to get a GPU.

No, you can't, unless you spend more for different fans or a different controller.

Which Device with 16gb Ram do you have now?
Keep in Mind, any M1 Pro Macbook Pro right now with 16gb Ram will be able to do MORE than Intel macs with 16gb Ram could:
You don't just have a much faster Ram (200 gb/s bandwidth), but also "Unified Memory", which is more efficient and faster.

If you encounter problems, you could just sell and upgrade.
But if you can afford it with ease, just invest into 32gb Ram. There's really worse you could do with your Money 😛

The amount you'd have to pay for an i7-7700k (usually around $300) would be more or close to the cost of a new i5-11400 + B560 ($180+120). And the i5-11400 is better in every conceivable way.

Get a cheaper CPU and motherboard. Even with a 3070, a 10400F or 3600 performs at most 3% worse than a 5600x while being way cheaper. Rest looks fine

Daniel Z. got a reaction from Letgomyleghoe in Is 32gb of RAM overkill?
It's overkill with just a 6 core CPU. There's realistically nothing you can do on a 6 core that would use up more than 16 GB ram.

10400F is better than every option right now at ~$150

Ryzen 5 2600 isn't worth getting unless it's dirt cheap, which it isn't, and no overclock will make it better than the 10400. And Ryzen 5 3600 isn't worth $200.

I3-10100 is fine for lower end gaming and will be fine for your chosen gpus. I use one and it actually games better than my Ryzen 5 1600 even with an overclock.

Daniel Z. reacted to cm992 in Will Apples M1 Chips cut off the platform even more?
They wont drop x86 support from macOS for a very long time. For example the oldest MacBook Air that supports the latest macOS (Big Sur) is from 2013. Thats 7 years of support and considering how Apple actually still sell lots of x86 Macs right now its going to be a while before x86 support is dropped.

The MacBook Air is the only line that you can only buy new with an M1. You can still get MacBook Pros in 13-in and 16-in with Intel processors. As well, all the iMacs are Intel, you can still buy the Intel Mac mini, and the Mac Pro and iMac Pro are Intel.

Daniel Z. reacted to BiG StroOnZ in Samsung to manufacture NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 SUPER Series GPUs next year (Updated)
NVIDIA looked to Samsung rather than TSMC for the production of its RTX 30 series GPUs. The decision to go with Samsung has caused issues though, not least poor yields on its 8 nm process. Nonetheless, NVIDIA will continue to use Samsung for its RTX 3000-series SUPER GPUs, according to a new report. The RTX 30 SUPER series is due next year.

I find this particular story quite interesting, because it makes the lack of supply issue "suspicious" (because of the timing). In that, what if there really isn't a supply issue per se, but they are in actuality preserving the best dies from current yields for this upcoming SUPER series release. Despite issues with production, they (NVIDIA) seem to have still renewed a second deal here with Samsung. If they are stockpiling the best binned dies for the SUPER series release of the 3000-series, that would make sense. Nobody suspected AMD to be as competitive with big Navi as they were (RDNA 2 / RX 6000-series). NVIDIA probably figured it would be best to rush the SUPER refresh parts to gain that slight edge over AMD's competing offerings (thus EOLing non-SUPER parts, and going straight to SUPER parts). With Turing though, once the SUPER series launched, quite quickly, non-SUPER parts went EOL (perhaps instead of refreshing stock of non-SUPER stuff, they forgo it altogether and pivot to the SUPER refresh parts immediately). Here though, if the Ampere SUPER parts prove to be slightly faster (5-12%) than their non-SUPER counterparts (as did with Turing), this is "justification" for charging even more or slightly more (rather than the same, especially if demand allows it). Which begs the question, is the scalping going to in actuality be even worse then, than it is now...? Or will supply meet the demand this time around because Samsung has been prepping for this refresh all along?
