  1. One thing to consider is that they have mentioned they will have ULMB on the ASUS monitor. I thought that was the case with the X34 before though and then it showed up without it. So hopefully ASUS will include it on theirs and then the decision will be easy.
  2. Just from the same video where the 100hz rumor first came from. Gotta assume it's correct since everything else was. https://youtu.be/U-sZ2LR0H48 @ 0:54
  3. The X34 is 3800R, this was confirmed back at Computex.
  4. Not gonna lie, I cringed a few times reading your post. But that just means you'll fit in here. That being said, there isn't a perfect monitor for you at this time. You're going to have to decide between a few monitors. Right now, the closest monitor to your needs is the Acer XB280HK which is a 28 inch 4k display with g-sync and the only 4k monitor with g-sync out right now as far I know but it uses a TN panel. ASUS is releasing the PG27AQ which is similar but only 27 inches and uses an IPS panel. There's no word on when this will release but I'd expect before the end of the year. We won't see any 4k panels over 60hz until Displayport 1.3 is adopted, which is probably next year. There are no Ultrawide 4k displays currently but there are a few non G sync options that are mainly targeted towards Professional editors. I'm just assuming you have the hardware already to run 4k games, but even with high end hardware 4k gaming isn't really practical right now. A monitor that is more practical in my opinion is Acer's Predator X34 coming out within the next month or two. It's an Ultrawide 1440p, IPS, G sync, and 100hz monitor that should run and look really nice with high end hardware. This will most likely be around $1200.
  5. TFTCentral confirmed from Acer that the G-Sync version will be 100hz. https://mobile.twitter.com/TFTCentral/status/626440504037756928
  6. I was trying to find some information on NVIDIA's Ultra Low Motion Blur setting on most G-sync monitors. I've read that at a low refresh rate like 60hz strobed lighting gives off a noticeable flickering, but this is when using Lightboost. I haven't found a G-sync monitors that lets you use ULMB under 85hz setting, but I haven't seen anything saying it's impossible to go lower than that either. I was wondering if anyone knew more about this, and could explain if it's possible to go lower than 85hz. I was mainly just wondering because the Acer XR341CKA and ASUS PG34q were recently confirmed to have ULMB meaning it's more likely to have 100hz refresh rate now, or 85hz minimum.
  7. I'd double check the box when you get it to make sure it isn't the freesync version before you go through all the unboxing. Even though it says g-sync on their site. The XR341CK is the freesync version which is supposed to come out mid July and was just confirmed as 75hz by TFTcentral. If by some weird reason it is the XR341CKA version then please let us know the refresh rate, I need to justify spending all my money.
