  2. Before going the hardware route, try investigating the software side. Get rid of bloatware. To me it sounds like a case of the memory leaks. If that doesn't fix it, try reinstalling Windows before going deeper down the rabbit hole.
  3. I'd say new rig. While your CPU and GPU might still be somewhat capable, they're old, outdated and, frankly, in potato league.
  4. Competition leads to research that leads to better products. Better products for better prices leads to profits for both consumer and manufacturer. Intel had no competition for years. They got lazy and greedy. AMD (finally) stepped up with Ryzen and Threadripper and now Intel's in a bit of a pickle and forced to actually do better research. (they're still greedy since they basically want you to upgrade your mobo every -other- CPU iteration)

  7. I think the bios flashback port is dedicated to only that and doesn't really act like a normal port. I could be wrong. It's highly unlikely that it would draw too much amperage, since there's a hardware-implemented limit. The device might ask for more, but it ain't getting it.

  9. assuming a 3 minute average per song, 4800 songs is over a month worth of non-stop, 24/7 music. Spotify runs on a monthly subscription, so I'd assume the limit to how many songs you can download is that. A month. (I'm not entirely sure what happens to those songs once the sub expires and isn't renewed, but I suppose the app keeps them for a buffer period and auto deletes them. maybe)
  10. RAM is volatile memory. That means data is stored on it temporarily and, on power loss, is wiped. What you're thinking about already exists, and it's called a RAM Disk.
  11. 'scuse me but who said anything about a calculator? I'm looking at my usage. RX480 and an R5 1600 with moderate overclocks are pushing my 500W PSU fairly near the limit I'd consider "safe" for my rated max output. A 570 and a 560 would easily go over said max rated wattage, hence my comment. Also, those calculators may be overestimating consumption by 50W at most, not your claimed 50%. Next time you make an asinine claim at least have the decency of bringing along proof that doesn't involve salt or tinfoil
  12. That sounds a lot like my ching chong tablet and I can tell ya it's complete and utterly useless. Can't do anything on it and the fact that it has 8 gigs of storage makes it even more unusable (android takes up like 6 gigs and BASIC applications can't even update since it's already filled up)
