  1. Working in IT I have seen agents on phones talk about how a user will call just to say its now working after calling them. No troubleshooting but the threat of calling their IT fixed the issue. Does that count?
  2. Strange that the Nvidia drivers and a few layers of software would allow such a thing to happen. If this happens with somewhat finished product being a game you would think this would be common in development of these assets and testing. Strange its happening now lol.
  3. To me this sounds like the same common issue with the 3090's and 3080's vram overheating issue. My Aorus card vram goes up to 106c when playing New world and I am waiting for new thermal pads for adding some to the back of the card as I have seen that greatly help with this issue.
  4. Great blog by EK about this sort of issue. Make sure you know the materials if its copper or some other metal as to not damage anything. https://www.ekwb.com/blog/how-to-clean-water-blocks/#:~:text=Clean the radiators and flush, after you have finished cleaning. https://www.titanrig.com/blog/post/how-to-flush-a-pc-radiator TLDR: Use hot water and care about materials as to not use anything too acidic.
  5. Grad to see the update that Amazon did the refund. They are pretty good sitting with the buyer. I remember days of old where it was mostly buyers trying to scam or do refund swaps. But more and more I hear about sellers having fishy deals. Really sucks to not get the CPU since there is such sort stock. Hopefully you get another asap. Where these resellers on Amazon? Where they official AMD/PSU manufacturer or were they random ma and pa stores selling on amazon?
  6. My old overclocking system I used for no other purpose but to top charts for small % of the time used external rad which I put into cooler which got fed Canada cold -40C air. It was a beast back in 2004 lol. I remember trying to watercool the old raptor drives when I got a used one. Ah I miss times when Watercooling looked like Frankenstein's monster.
  7. dam thats neat. I love cool little parts like these. Im a sucker for small tech things like flow rate monitors and the like. I used to be one of the small few who had ram fans LOL.
  8. Depending on a few factors. i usually go 2-3 generations or if prices are good or I find a deal. while searching for parts with the shortage I got a few smaller retailers sell me at msrp so I didnt want to waste a good deal lol.
  9. Words are powerful and was this the case with LG? I have not watched the video but the wording you used gives the impression he could publish a review but they wanted obviously to give feedback even if its to give themselves a better outlook. Reviewers need to be careful either way, being very critical and using strong wording against a company can burn bridges and lead to fewer or no more reviewable products sent. This may or may not be the case as I do not watch this channel. Reviewers should be fair to both the customer and the product itself. They need to be truthful 100% but also know when to use personal/professional criticisms wording correctly. example: This product sucks and nobody should buy this ever and the company should be ashamed. VS There are multiple flaws for this specific product being released and I believe that there are better options on the market right now and here is an example. I am generally with the reviewer as I believe they should have the freedom to criticize and talk about products without fear of their livelyhood. But the fact is there are many channels and they could easily find another user who would more favorably review their product. Wish some places even going with companies just to get the clicks giving into the demands. Note this is all based on your post as I am currently at work and will try to watch the video later. I also would like to bring up this is one side to the argument and would like to see what LG has to say in defense though I doubt they would publish anything very public unless something like this blows up.
  10. Been waiting for the site to show some stock. Any idea when they might get more stock? Built new desk so I need another Deskpad to fit it perfectly as my significant other is using the old one.
  11. It does sound like non proper contact is being made or the thermal paste application/paste itself is just a bit worse. You should also make sure you have the same delta temp of the room and if the pc case is closed or not. These could all have small affects that could = to around 5 degrees give or take. Make sure using Isopropyl alcohol to clean as much as possible before new application of thermal paste. Which paste are you using?
  12. If the temps are very high on idle or light loads this could be due to contact between dye and the cooler. Thermal pads can be tricky as some pads can be more stiff than others. Are you adding pads to the pack or adding any new pads that were not there on the reference or simply replacing pads? I would check with Nvidia to see the true measurements of the thermal pads. As long as you have more thermal paste you should be able to remove the cooler to see the contact for the thermal pads. There would be noticeable indents from the chips pressing into the pad. Note that when using thermal paste on a gpu you usually want more than you would for a cpu as the dye is much bigger. It isnt 100% clear in the post but the temp after replacing with the new pads. Is it still the GPU core temps that are high or the RAM temps that are high?
  13. People come and go in companies for many reasons. Its a natural progression of someone's career path in life. Iv watched some people stay in my company and others go onto do other things, change career paths, move onto better things, etc too many things to count. Unless they or LTT has a statement officially its not really anyone's but their business lol.
  14. Ill wait for a bunch of reviews as most reviews skew to one side or another so if you read multiple articles and see both sides of the coin you will get a better picture. I would almost never trust an internal test of a product as any salesman will tell you how they emphasis and stretch the truth very far.
  15. Honestly I hate Twitter and believe its one of the lowest forms of communication. I am not surprised people taking advantage of DMCA, this is done on all social media platforms tbh where sites are so scared they would rather take videos/content down before any burden of proof is done.
  16. As someone who in the historical past fixed personal computers I HATE the work "Fast". Its 100% relative and when they used to say "The salesperson said it was fast"....Im sorry but if your spending $200 on a laptop I can bet you money its not "Fast". People declaring every tablet to be an Ipad or an Iphone.... I liked the term Cellular Mobility Device more than every mobile phone now being called Iphone. I guess thats just apple's great marketing to thank for this. Its not even old people but every younger person calls every phone a Iphone or Ipad. It makes it sound dirty to me. I guess its more my age as anytime someone is talking about a connector I ask if its male or female. I even stupidly asked when someone gave me new video cables like hdmi or DP. Old VGA cables used to have adapters for connecting to weird machines that would have male connectors.
  17. There is no reason why ATX is the standard form everyone buys as very few people actually use all its functionality and its cheap because of the volume. MATX, and ITX are much closer to the normal users use scenario. The price would be the same as ATX if they sold the same volume with different SKUs. Its the same with Computer cases. Most cases have way more space and features than most people wont use.
  18. I like side fans as they add flare where it used to be just chunks of metal. I would recommend some more cable management as the case you have is great for making sure cables are out of sight out of mind lol. I also hope your desk doesn't force the keyboard next to the case unless your mouse if left handed. That would be weird posture having the mouse closer to the body and the keyboard farther away. If you like the looks and using the parts you chose in the way you want dont mind these criticisms: I wouldnt spend so much on that case if you are not fully utilizing its features as its a massive huge case meant to be filled. single gpu/air cooling combo isnt benefitting from the case. 32GB ram is still alot of gaming and getting faster 16gb kit would be cheaper. The money saved on getting a much cheaper case/ran could have been put towards something else. But thats just IMO so take it with a grain of salt. I am about keeping case simple as I want the parts to shine not the box to look RGB. I also build MATX/ITX watercooling builds. Nice build post some more shots of sides and front its pretty snazzy
  19. I don't believe in any such thing as a non-biased review/article/writing piece. Everyone has opinions and they do come out even if by a little. The point of having multiple places to look up reviews helps the consumer make the decision for themselves. I would recommend not only taking LTT opinion on X item and to look up what others have to say as well. I dont believe LTT has had the stance of saying they are correct 100% of what they talk about of that their reviews or unboxings are 100% facts. Videos are made for enjoyment with sprinkles of information as well as their opinion to put a spin on it. LTT to me has made a better attempt to become less biased as other channels or reviewers. Just take a look at passmark for some funny bias. I am not saying its a bad thing or a good thing but its something a viewer should be aware of and LTT has done a great job showing this, as in alot of videos they straight up talk about how the product was given to them for the video.
  20. I do not wish to replace the cards stock cooler as I like the look of the Aorus card. So the fix LTT video was able to use isnt an option. Most posts about cards seem that replacing or adding thermal pads to the back almost always fixes the issues.
  21. Been keeping track of temps for parts of my current RTX 3080 and I see that my GPU memory temps are getting up to 100C. My current card is the Gigabyte rtx 3080 Aorus Extreme. I have been trying to find the measurements for the Thermal pads on the front as well as adding some more to the back of the chips. I am currently waiting on Gigabytes answer as well to make sure that replacing them wont remove warranty as they allow gpu water block installations. I wanted to see if anyone here has dealt with this card and either had the same issues or knows the measurements? Some videos out have different information on sizing for thickness which is strange. I am guessing since there are 3 different SKU's for this card and they all look the same it can be confusing.
  22. Cannot make an omlette without breaking a few eggs.
