  1. I get 82c (92 percent fan) and 64c (62 percent fan) during SLI gaming without a overclock. The fan is quiet though
  2. You mean get the XB271HU, the monitor that will have terrible QC, like every single ACER monitor. AU Optronics makes the panel, so it is AU Optronics that needs to fix panels, not ASUSs fault. AU Optronics is ACER
  3. Hello Just a question as this is my first SLI setup I noticed in MSI Afterburner that my SLI voltages are not the same, one GPU has 1.2V and the other has 1.875V. They both have the same overclock values. Why are the voltages different, the increase should have been 25mV. Also I noticed in MSI Afterburner that GPU1 is 62c and GPU2 is 78C. I was thinking GPU1 is the top GPU, is this not correct. Thanks
  4. Hello I cannot find it in the manual however I have 5 possible ports to plug my headset into, I found the microphone slot, I just need the headphone slot. I have L- OUT, L- IN, RS- OUT, CS- OUT and the HP out (it is 6.3mm) should I use the adapter and use the 6.3 slot Thanks
  5. We could also say the terrible ones were removed and the best ones were kept, even though they are still bad. It is AU Optronics which has bad QC We cannot say that most people not talking about problems with the monitor are fine, due to people who do not use a forum So we still cannot really say the biggest fault is ASUS's, due to AU Optronics making the panel and it is their fault anyway We know AU Optronics does not QC a panel, which is where all the problems happen with the monitor. Look at my previous example about Corsair and Cherry MX So if you think ASUS QC is bad, ACER QC must be the worse, due to AU Optronics QC problems, 1440p 144hz monitor problems and the ACER Predator X34 major problems. So really ASUS QC is a lot better than ACER QC. So back to my statement. The ASUS PG348Q is worth waiting for, as ASUS has better QC than ACER (it still might not be the best, however it is a lot better)
  6. So really we have no evidence about ASUS doing good or bad QC as we do not know if they removed the terrible panels from a batch. Fact- AU Optronics has terrible QC Fact- AU Optronics are the only company ASUS can use for the PG279Q Fact- The PG279Q only has problems with the panel, made by AU Optronics, the monitor has no major QC problems unlike the ACER Predator X34 Fact- The ACER Predator X34 has many major QC problems, due to ACER QC Fact- We know the 1440p 144hz panel has many issues, due to the amount of monitors that use it, the amount of problems with the panel and how many returns retailers have said about with it Fact- The ASUS PG348Q has had longer to be developed, so they can fix most of the issues that the ACER Predator X34 currently has on it
  7. ASUS can check them however what are they going to do, send them back and receive another faulty batch as AU Optronics cannot QC the panel. Nearly all of the panels have issues. How do we know that ASUS did not remove all the terrible panels and kept the better ones for their monitors, even though the better ones still have issues due to AU Optronics, not bad ASUS QC. We do not know this so you cannot counter the argument (only if you have evidence) it would only be your opinion. We know the only problems with the ASUS PG279Q is the panel, which is made by AU Optronics. The monitor is fine, there are no scan line issues, not overclocking to 165hz, coil whine, colour banding and sleeping issues. These are not on the PG279Q. However if we look at the ACER Predator X34, we can clearly notice many QC issues from ACER, as it has nothing to do with the panel. All the issues on the ACER Predator X34 are with the monitor, not the panel. So I will say again Why did they go into contract with them? Well because they need to give ACER competition due to ACER only releasing these panels, ASUS are losing money from it, even though most of the panels have terrible QC Not sure how you can say that due to the issues being with AU Optronics, not ASUS, as they do not make the panel. Also that statement was not based on any evidence and is just your complete opinion.
  8. You seem to not understand, Corsair will RMA the product, it will be their support you call. However it is not Corsairs failure, it will be Cherry's failure, as they make the Cherry MX keys. It is not difficult to understand. CORSAIR DOES NOT MAKE THE KEYS. So if the AU Optronics panel is bad, you call ASUS and RMA the product. However it is AU Optronics failure that makes the panel bad. ASUS does not make the panel. If you look at the ACER Predator X34, ACER says the scan line issue is not a problem and you cannot RMA for that issue.
  9. QLED seems good as they can have a pure color that delivers 30-40% luminance efficiency advantage over organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) at the same color point and ultrathin, transparent, flexible form factors which will allow designers to develop new display and lighting forms. Quote At least one of LG's ColourPrime series will utilise QD technology and they claim a 30% increase in the colour gamut which is getting close to the 4K Digital Cinema (DCI) spec. https://www.avforums.com/article/whats-with-all-the-quantum-dot-qled-qd-tv-ces-2015.11014 However there are disadvantages like a slower response time, still using a backlight and lower contrast ratio. If they can get past these with future designs, it will be much better than OLED. OLED might still beat it however we have other panels in development, so OLED is not the final stop to the best display. We also need to get channels to start broadcasting and filming in 4K, if not, these displays will be useless Note: To think I could have just bought a LG 65EC970V, if I did not buy a new computer. However still waiting for an 21.9 OLED monitor which will be a few years yet, I expect by 2020
  10. I am blaming AU Optronics, which is where all these problems come from on these 1440p 144hz monitors, it is not ASUS's fault for bad QC on the panel. If ASUS puts their name on it, does that mean they create everything to do with that monitor, no. How can ASUS QC the panel problems and correct them if they do not make the panels. If ASUS looked removed all the ones with backlight bleed and IPS glow, there would be about 10 percent of good panels. They will then get a bad batch of monitors again from AU Optronics due to bad QC on the panels. ASUS cannot do anything about this. They could remove the monitor completely, however they will lose money as the competition is still making the monitor. You are failing to notice who's fault this really is here, it is AU Optronics, ASUS cannot remake the monitor, fix it or go to another supplier, as AU Optronics are the only one doing it. We do not know if ASUS returned the terrible panels and used the better versions, as ASUS cannot return all of them. Now, if we look at the ACER Predator X34, why does that have so many issues with it. If we take the ACER Predator X34 and AU Optronics, it is clear to notice that no QC is taking place, as both are the same company. You seem to be blaming a company who makes the monitor, not the panel (which has the problems) ASUS does not have problems, it is AU Optronics who has problems with QC. We could take another example If Corsair made a keyboard and the Cherry MX keys stop working after a few weeks (on most samples), who's problem is it, Corsair or Cherry's, it is Cherry's fault, as they make the keys. Corsair could have done QC on it, however they did not make the keys, so how do they know if the MX keys have a fault with them after a certain amount of time. So it would be Cherry who has to remake the keys and do better QC on it. The same applies to panels, ASUS did not make the panels, so how can they fix the problems. It would be AU Optronics that has to recall the panels to do better QC.
  11. I will have a look, thanks, is that what is actually used or is it just a sticker
  12. Hello Has anyone put a different colour sticker on the yellow accents on the side of the GTX 980ti Lightning, like red, if so, what did you use for it. Thanks
  13. Let's get something cleared up, as no one seems to read the post. I do not think ASUS is the best company, look at my components (need to update) do you notice any ASUS components inside my computer, no, reason for that is, I think they produce terrible components (except the Extreme Motherboards and Matrix GPUs and some monitors) Now next statement ACER and ASUS both get it from AU Optronics, both panels have IPS glow and backlight bleed, who's problem is it, AU Optronics. If ASUS were to send back the bad panels, 90 percent of the stock would be going back Why did they go into contract with them? Well because they need to give ACER competition due to ACER only releasing these panels, ASUS are losing money from it, even though most of the panels have terrible QC Does ASUS have good QC on them? Not the best, however much better than ACER QC (look at ACER Predator X34 issues, they are QC issues with the monitor, not the panel) Is ASUS the best monitor company? No, I would prefer to get LG, Dell or Samsung. However due to the lack of choices between ASUS and ACER, I would get the ASUS PG348Q (for 3440x1440) due to all the ACER QC problems ASUS QC? This is an important statement here, so read it. Let's take the ASUS PG279Q and the ACER Predator X34 (two different monitors I know) however let's look at the ASUS one first PG279Q, the panel has a backlight bleed and IPS glow, some dirt behind the panel (some versions) however any problems with the monitor, like switching off, colour banding, scan line issues, not overclocking to 165hz, settings being reset and sleeping issues. The answer is, no, this is ASUS QC. The backlight bleed, IPS glow and dirt, is AU Optronics QC as ASUS does not produce the panel. ASUS should QC the panel, however what are they going to do, send most of them back then get a new batch with more problems. This is AU Optronics, not LG or Samsung ACER Predator X34, the panel has no problems (made by LG, good QC) however problems with the monitor, like switching off, colour banding, scan line issues, not overclocking to 100hz, settings being reset and sleeping issue. The answer is, yes, this ACER QC. Do you notice a difference, these are problems under ACER QC (not panel problems) You notice that ASUS QC was much better as the PG279Q did not have any of these problems. The ACER Predator X34, has so many ACER QC problems. So we need to take the panel out of the question and look at the monitor QC In conclusion you will notice AU Optronics cannot QC panels, the ACER 1440p and ASUS PG279Q (has less problems) having backlight bleed and IPS glow, was AU Optronics QC problem. So we need to stop accusing ASUS and other monitor manufacturers for bad QC when using an AU Optronics panel. However if the monitor has problems then that is the company's problem, like the ACER Predator X34 This is why I think that the ASUS PG348Q will have much better QC on it than the ACER Predator X34 Thanks for reading
  14. It is AU Optronics (ACER) they make the panel, therefore the panel QC is their problem. ASUS or another company cannot QC bad panels to make them perfect, if you actually look the ASUS PG279Q QC is a lot better than the ACER 1440p version. What can be done about it, need to get AU Optronics to start having good QC, if not, any company will get the same panel defects (might get fewer issues but IPS glow and backlight bleed will still be there) they need to put a polarizer on it to reduce IPS glow, then better QC to reduce backlight bleed. It is not ASUS fault, not LGs fault, not anyone's fault, apart from AU Optronics. This was not aimed at you: So stop trying to blame every company who makes this monitor when the panels come from the same company (AU Optronics) They did QC, however how can you QC panels from AU Optronics which had no QC. ASUS or another company cannot remake the panel. How can ASUS remake the monitor, it is made by AU Optronics. They cannot put a polarizer in it, they cannot reduce the IPS glow and they cannot reduce backlight bleed, as it is made by AU Optronics (NOT ASUS OR ANOTHER COMPANY) It is ACERs fault (well AU Optronics) as they did no QC on the panels. I would look at who makes the panels before making a statement. There is so much misinformation going around this forum, some people really need to look online about these panels.
  15. You know who makes the panel, AU Optronics (ACER) which is why it has bad QC. ASUS is not the one who makes the panel so they cannot QC it. They QC all the other problems with the monitor (not the panel, which comes under backlight bleed and IPS glow) if you look at the ACER Predator X34, that is bad QC, as it has many issues that are not related to the panel (made by LG, better QC) like scan line issues and many more issues. So the reason these monitors have a massive amount of backlight bleed and IPS glow, is ACERs QC If you notice there are no other problems with the ASUS PG279Q, apart from the panel which is ACERs fault, so ASUS did good QC on it.
  16. I would get the 5820K with a good Motherboard like the ASUS Extreme or MSI Godlike I would get the ASUS PG348Q, the ACER Predator X34 has many issues and is not worth it.
  17. 1. ACER should have fixed these issues before release 2. Where did I say ASUS were so good at making everything 3. I am just backing up my point with links, to provide evidence based on facts 4. People looking at this monitor seems to not know about these issues, so I tell them about it, so they know, unlike all the reviewers, like TFT central who just ignore them 5. I do help many people, you should look at other topics and other forums 6. One of the reasons for the ASUS PG348Q launching later is better QC (not sure how you can get worse than ACER though) if you notice, RoG monitors take longer to design (look at the IFA Press conference) also as it is launching later, they know about all these issues, so they can provide a fix for them 7. I like being an early adopter but not for bad products
  18. Found the topics for you about all the issues of the ACER Predator X34 and ACER 1440p monitor. http://community.acer.com/t5/Predator-Discussions/MULTIPLE-Problems-with-New-X34/td-p/390434 http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1880968 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/350980-beware-the-acer-predator-xb270hu-monitor/ Also most pages on this, from page 500 http://www.overclock.net/t/1537403/tftcentral-acer-predator-xr341ck-34-curved-gaming-screen-with-g-sync
  19. Just look online, it has so many issues, do not buy ACER products. I do provide constructive information. Not sure how you can recommend the ACER 1440p when so many people sent them back, due to blacklight bleed and IPS glow. The ACER Predator X34 has so many issues and people are sending them back, just look on Overclock.net and the ACER Forum. Also ACER are not covering RMA for the scan line issue. They also recalled the ACER Predator X34, however they are only fixing one issue (of about six) So just get a monitor from another company (not ACER) Dell has just released a 1440p TN 144hz monitor with Gsync, that is quite good. If you want 21.9 100hz, wait for the ASUS PG348Q. BertrandH, just look online about the ACER Predator X34 issues. You will find there are so many of them.
  20. I would not buy the ACER Predator X34, same with the ACER 1440p Just do not buy ACER, the ACER Predator X34 has so many issues at the moment. The ACER 1440p has terrible QC on it, most people have to buy lots of them to get a good one, due to IPS glow and backlight bleed.
  21. should i leave it to dry flat or upside down
  22. The coffee only went over about 10 keys at the bottom right of the keyboard.
  23. Hello Just spilt coffee over my k70 keyboard, I have used some q tips to remove some of it. Also it was a small amount of coffee in it. What should i do now. Should i put it in water or leave it to dry. Thanks
