cakez reacted to Enderman in MInecraft Server
well that means you dont have the correct name for the server file...
find where the server.jar is, right click, properties, copy the file location
then in your batch file instead of writing minecraft_server.1.8.8(1).jar put
"thefilelocation/thefilename.jar"
make sure that you use a forward slash, and that the name of the file is correct
also include the quotes
then save and try again, see if ti finds the file this time

cakez reacted to minibois in I dunno anything how networking-Help
No.
They can interfere with each other a lot. Which would suck.
And it wouldn't make your internet speeds better too probably, since it is still the same signal from the router.
The best way is probably by just using ethernet on most of your devices and maybe 1 repeator (preferably connected through ethernet, so it gets signal via ethernet and sends out WiFi) halfway from the router to the place where you want good WiFi.

Router: that box that gives you WiFi and wired internet that probably hangs somewhere in your house. It's the border between your network and the outside network. Basically picks up the internet so you can distribute in your own house. (Some brands of routers: D-Link, Asus, AVM (FritzBox)
Repeater: picks up the internet or WiFi signal from your router and sends out this signal again so devices on the other side of the house have WiFi too. You can connect it via WiFi or a cable to your router and it sends out WiFi. (Some brands: Sitecom and AVM are very popular)
Access Points: Something you can connect to via WiFi to get internet. This can be your router or any of your repeaters.
If you have any more questions, be sure to quote me and ask

cakez reacted to Deblow in Project Alternate 4K Build "COMPLETE"
The MDF for the 2 bottom sections along with most of the MDF for the middle have now been cut to size & I have started to assemble.
I was told to kit myself out with a face-mask & glasses when cutting MDF,
but the normal size face-mask was causing my glasses to steam up lol
So had to dig out my airsoft mask to use in conjunction with the small face-mask
Some of the bolts/screws I will be using to fasten the main parts together, they will make it more easy to remove with standard alan keys & should last longer.
Sides ready to be fasten to the bottom & back, soon as the miter edges are done
The hardest part so far, miter edges, very tricky & most the time i have to use scrap wood before doing the final peace or risk wasting some MDF
My 1st set of angled corners cut ready to use as shelf's/frame
Bottom left assembled

You won't get 144hz all the time in every game, like shadow of mordor or maybe witcher 3, GTA 5 etc. and especially not with max graphics on, but it is definitely viable. If you are playing MMO's or DOTA you should be getting close to your refresh rate. And with 1440p you also don't need max graphics since you (at least I can't) tell the difference between no AA and 4x AA at 1440. If you wan't to max your graphics out at the same time you would probably need 3x 980's, but personally I don't think you would be able to see the difference at that resolution.
