  1. There might be a lock for a set minimum RPM in the iDRAC settings - can't say for such an old device as an R210, but this is the case for all RX30/RX40/RX50 PowerEdge servers by default If you can use RACADM commands via SSH, then there is a way to modify fan limits: racadm set system.thermalsettings.FanSpeedOffset X Where the X is either 0,1,2,3 or 255 - 0 is "Low Fan Speed" and 255 is "None" - try playing with those, may be the reason for the min. RPM cap. To verify what setting you currently have try this: racadm get system.thermalsettings.FanSpeedOffset Note that the above may not work on such an old iDRAC. Also, two things: 1. Please change your password to something else from the default "calvin" 2. Don't show your password on forums

  4. Lower your front intake fans - put the NZXT one under the Corsair one, or even better move the fan from the top exhaust into a 3rd front intake under the Corsair front fan. It looks to be in a place in which it could actually hurt airflow by throwing fresh air from the front intake fans immediately out of the case before reaching the hot components. It's better to provide more fresh air into your restricted case and let it flow out of it naturally (since warm air goes upwards anyway). You could also try playing with the idea of placing a 120mm fan over the PSU blowing into the GPU since you have a bit of a mesh area on the PSU chamber cover over there.
  5. I think the differences between SP and AF fans were explained well above, watch the linked TechQuickie video and that should give you a good general idea about this. As for the current config, you are still limited by the case that you have and that shows when you opened the front panel. What are the core clock speeds under those current temperatures? Maybe you're just worrying about nothing, unless the noise generated by the card bothers you. From a "safety" perspective, these temps are perfectly good. Remember how GPU boost works - if you cool the card better, it will increase clock speeds automatically and up the temperature again until it hits one of its limits such as temp limit, power limit, voltage limit etc. So if you lower the temperature limit, it should slightly reduce clock speeds but it should give you better temperatures (provided it has enough fresh air) as the card will try not to exceed the limit that you set.
  6. Well yeah - the primary reason for those GPU temps (besides the GPU cooler itself) is the overall case ventilation but I thought you already assumed that (Closed front panel and all that) Adding an AIO could help in this particular situation of limited airflow, but the first thing you should look to improve is the case airflow by using fans where available and prioritizing SP (static pressure) fans over AF (airflow) fans, even though cases usually use AF ones. SP fans are better for providing airflow in tight and restricted spaces. Maybe try increasing the RPM of intake fans first and see if it helps at all?
  7. I believe there's not much you can do - if you swapped your aircooler for a liquid cooled AIO for the CPU then the GPU may have a bit more room to breathe and the hot air from the CPU cooler would immediately go out of the case. 1080Ti was a fairly hot running card and your particular model doesn't have that great of a cooler. That's the main reason for the card being 83-84C, that is a fully safe temperature however and it's perfectly normal. The card tries to stay at that temperature by reducing core clock speeds dynamically. With a liquid cooled CPU you could potentially see a bit higher GPU core clocks, but it's honestly not worth much, if anything.

I actually got two of them, but I left the larger one for my desk at work 😉 Great stuff, I love it! It's way better than what I previously had from Steelseries

  10. I believe it's one of the worst ones. I'd take the reference one over this one. It's actually suprisingly high quality and very quiet (I own one). Otherwise, any Sapphire model, or the XFX 319 Merc are good choices.
  11. Sure, here: Admittedly I did recently lower the speed of every fan in my PC so it's barely noticeable, but still these are temps that you'd consider "high" with a 360mm AIO - and they're normal for this chip. It gets hotter until it hits a certain point in favor of higher clock speeds that are sustained for a longer period of time. Though these aren't the temps you'd see when gaming for example.
  12. It's normal for those chips. AMD said it's by design to increase performance, they claim it doesn't affect longevity of 5000 series chips. Mine can get up to 89C during repeated Cinebench runs - and I have a 360mm Corsair AiO cooler

  14. It will downclock when idle. Verify clock speeds when your CPU is under load.
  15. Those chips run that hot, but this is normal behavior for this generation. I have a Corsair H150i Pro and I can make it go up to 88C in Cinebench, in normal games it's 65-75C most of the time. Options are increase fan speed on your cooler and in the case, or limit performance like setting PPT to a lower value.
  16. This doesn't seem like it. I've got a 6900 XT myself and I can enable all features in Cyberpunk except Nvidia DLSS which is understandable. Ray Tracing worked in all games that I've tried so far like SOTTR, Control, Cyberpunk, Battlefield V.

  18. Samsung has a Smart Signage series of displays that are meant for displaying ads in public places for example, those screens usually run 24/7 and are probably best suited for this kind of work. But as mentioned above, I don't think there's a real, measurable difference in reliability over regular monitors.

Still - being forced to pay an additional $50 for a product with lower resale value, especially if you've waited for so many months seems insulting as well

Polish retailer cancels 10-month-old RTX 3070 order, offers RTX 3060 in return

    Quote

The editor ordered GeForce RTX 3070 non-LHR model back in November 2020. The Polish retailer X-Kom was taking preorders on items that were not in stock, but ensuring customers that the orders are now queued and will ship as soon as possible. As soon as the manufacturer informed X-Kom about the delay of the shipment, the retailer began offering full refunds. But this would not solve the problem, which is buying a graphics card at the price from November 2020, which was much lower than what we have now. This is where the problem starts.

The editor decided to wait for the card to be in stock, which unfortunately never happened. Over the span of 10 months, the retailer did not secure the shipment of the RTX 3070 non-LHR model. Instead, the retailer reached out to Jan when NVIDIA released its RTX 30 LHR (Lite Hash Rate) series to ask if he wishes to swap to an identical model, except with LHR mining lock enabled. Most customers should agree to this swap because non-LHR series are no longer produced and will likely never be restocked.

The real surprise came when the retailer offered RTX 3060 LHR instead of RTX 3070 LHR. X-kom even explained that this SKU offers ‘exactly the same performance as its predecessor’, which is simply not true. This is an extreme example of a retailer taking advantage of the current GPU pricing situation, by offering a similarly priced model, except 10 months later, when the pricing has skyrocketed.

Posting it here since it isn't really newsworthy, but I can confirm that this looks to be true and got two real-life examples with this exact store:

    - My friend ordered a 3060Ti Gaming X Trio on launch day per my recommendation to do so, about a month and a half ago he was contacted that they could give him a 3060Ti Gaming Z Trio LHR instead, BUT he needed to pay another $50 to get it. Because of the current market situation and things not looking bright in the near future I told him to suck it up and pay it because he couldn't play most games that he liked with his previous 3GB 1060 at 1440p, but still a f*cking dick move. He doesn't plan to mine cryptocurrencies, but the LHR thing is kind of a downgrade too.

    - I have a 3080 TUF order standing since 17.09.2020 (ordered around 15 minutes after they went on sale), I've been waiting almost a full year (!) now, and I recently got news that I'm 77th in the queue. It needs to be noted, that in March of this year I was 98th and it's hard to believe that they weren't able to source enough cards to fulfill launch-day orders for an entire year.

Luckily I've got an RX 6900 XT now so I don't really need a 3080, but I'm still curious when and how they're planning to resolve it. Dick moves all around.

That's something I've heard a lot of stores doing. I think MSI just stopped making those Gaming X Trio cards they had at launch and are now only selling the LHR cards.

I am willing to bet you're not moving up in the queue because they're fulfilling orders. People are cancelling their preorders.

Offering 3060's to people who preordered 3070's is just insulting though.

  22. This thread is not only wrong, but also entirely pointless. I'm going to lock it, because there's no productive discussion resulting out of it. OP, if you have specific problems please create a thread for those issues so maybe someone will help you resolve them. It's highly unlikely that it's something wrong with AMD CPUs in particular.
  23. It will surely work, it may just work in the PCIE 3.0 x8 mode instead of x16. No difference whatsoever for a GTX 1650. * Thread moved to CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory *
  24. The memory should be stable at XMP. RMA it if it causes errors during testing. I'm running the same 3000MHZ Dominator Platinum 4x8 kit that's overclocked to 3800MHz with 1900FCLK with a 5800X and it works great.
