    Man I hate that I can't be 100% satisfied with…

    I'm sad corsair stop making the Saber, that was my go to mouse and when I went to grab a replacement they were gone. I didn't even realize it G502 fully weighted down is fine.
  2. I'm still around but I replaced most of my time that was going to tech into being a rail, transit and housing nerd.
    I'd care more if I still worked on supercomputers but my internship wasn't converted to a full time position because of internal politics so I'm enjoying job hunting. 6+ months to get back to me to say we are closing the position without filling it. And they wonder why they struggle to keep and get good staff.

  3. Nice photo, reminds me of my uncle who rides Triumph bikes until they are worthless and gets another one. Somehow I never shared this photo before here. Canon SL2 with a 24-105@ 105mm F4 1/1250 ISO200
  4. There is no end point as there is still lots of work to be done and there isn't some fixed goals outside of specific projects who even then likely don't know when their research will be done.
  5. For 500$ your at like a used Canon XA11 from someone like lensrentals which has 2 XLR in and a mini HDMI out
  6. cameras are trying to get a good image by having a good sensor, phones now do a bunch of combining and software tricks to make a okay sensor look better. Most phones will take that 100mp sensor and downscale it to 25mph to help out their low light and noise performance meanwhile on a camera you can just have a big enough sensor to get good low light and noise performance.
  7. ==split== please don't take over a different thread
  8. I went fuji APS-C. I'm just saying canon still doesn't have any good value lenses
  9. cannon finally pushing what their lenses can do. Still happy I didn't grab a APS-C R mount camera
  10. ~2m points a day is the best I can do so I expect I'll slowly fall down the ranks Good to see there is over 300 people folding

    Well its my birthday and I got a focurite scarl…

    I ended up grabbing a 2I2 a few months back, I quite like them
  13. Not sure how much I'm going to be able to this year but excited to see how the team does
  14. Without a 3rd party camera app iphone time laps suck. I'd grab a insta 360 RS 4k for timelapse, you get full control and they'd don't have the the overheating and issues like the new go pros
  15. how it feels trying to moderate a thread thats flying

      Me triaging tickets.

      Bucket: 8

      *Me triages one*

      Bucket: 17

      *Me triages another*

      Bucket: 45

      Ok which call centre agent is hoarding tickets and escalating all at once?

  16. beautiful shot I wish I had time this summer to get out and explore. I really hate the lights here, I think its sodium instead of LEDs. These trains were both late after a number of signaling and crossing gate issues delayed them Fuji X-S10 Sigma 30mm 1.4@ F3.2 1/100 iso10000
  17. it looks to just be a bunch of cheap converts. The case is likely worth a few bucks as is the HDMI splitter, otherwise its all junk
  18. ==locked== We don't allow flamewars bait
  19. I'd pay the extra 20$ for a good vs well used lens I like Sabrents mini USB reader its like 8$ but you need to plug it right into a USB port. the reader you grabbed looks fine
  20. Drop down to a T6 to save money for a better lens. The 18vs 24mp is not a big deal unless you plan some crazy crops. The batteries and SD card are fine, don't forget a card reader if you need one I've posted lots in this thread using a T5 and 60D along with my newer Fuji X-S10. The image quality out of a T5 or T6 won't be massively improved by the 24mp sensor on a T7 the jack of all master of none on EF-S is a 18-135, I wouldn't go for the 28-300 or 18-270 as they compromise far too much on image quality.
  21. I've got a few random cards like 2 Gskill 64gb but my bread and butter is like 20 Sandisk extreme 128gb with a few 64 and 256gb. So far I've not had a single card fail in my 15 years of using SD cards. I've been meaning to pickup and try some Samsung SD cards given a number work quite well in abusive situations like dash cams. Their 256gb cards are also like 20$ right now on B&H.
  22. The cannon T5 and T6 are good options but not at all setup for video, they lack microphone in ports and so any better audio would need to be done external. I've used https://www.mpb.com to both sell and buy gear before. I like the fact someone has checked over gear and says exactly whats in the box along with photos of the items. I'd pair that with 2-4 lenses. Typically a 18-55 and 75-300 or 55-250 are my recommendation but you could also grab 1-2 primes like a 50, 40 or 24
  23. I don't use it for photos because all my work is stylized and for myself. If I was doing work for someone else and it was something where the color was important I would use one.
  24. A T5 or T6 from https://www.mpb.com should be in the low 100s, Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II is ~50$ Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II in is ~60$ I'd get all these items used in good or better condition. I'd then also grab 1-2 spare batteries and a 128gb or 265gb card.
