  1. Hi, I'm looking for a TV preferably in the $1k-2k range, preferably OLED, above 50in. Retailer doesn't really matter, just has to be available to ship in the continental US. Open to waiting if anyone knows sales that will start soon, I'm just starting my research now so I'd thought I'd post here to see if anyone knows any good deals. If anyone has anything with an exceptional deal around the 1.5k range for a good 70in+ LCD panel, I'd take that over the OLED. Just seeing what my options are! Thanks Edit: I should specify that this is mainly for gaming. Probably going to be using an nvidia shield / steam link as well as consoles for exclusives. Will obviously be used for other things as well, but that's not my focus.
  2. I think I figured it out. The PC would intermittently freeze with the GPU in the case. These freezes would corroborate with the CPU throttling due to overheating. Taking the side panel off of my case stopped this issue, and stopped the freezing. I assume my fan solution is ineffective at cooling my CPU and GPU. The inside of the case gets much too hot, and I will adjust the fans to get some better airflow before running my next few tests.
  3. Sorry for replying so late, but just ran the memtest an AIDA64 stress test overnight. Stress test came out without the PC crashing. Memtest said that it passed and there were no errors. Only things connected were my peripherals, CPU, 1 stick of RAM, and my boot disk. Gonna try a stress test with GPU now.
  4. Ok. Will do as soon as I get home from work tomorrow and will post results.
  5. I've been having an issue for the past 4 months or so while playing games or doing intensive activities. The computer will completely lock up, with absolutely 0 responsiveness. Sound completely glitch out, and play the last half second or so on repeat. I have absolutely no clue what is causing it. I wiped windows clean thinking it was a software issue, but that is not the case. I have tried to find error logs, I have no idea where to look. Event viewer yields no helpful results. It recently picked up on frequency, happening during less intensive activities. Currently, my PC has crashed during a render in Aftereffects, gaming in DayZ, PUBG, Dark Souls 3, and more recently it has crashed in Overwatch and Hearthstone. I play a lot of League of Legends, and it has never crashed during League. If anyone could help me identify the cause of this issue or help me find error logs, that would be insanely helpful. Nothing is overclocked. Here are my specs, all of the drivers are updated and current: CPU Intel 4790k Motherboard Sabertooth Z97 Mark S RAM 16GB HyperX White Fury GPU Gigabyte 980ti Reference Case Corsair White Air 540 Storage 2TB HD, 240GB SSD PSU Corsair RM850 Cooling Corsair H80i Keyboard Corsair K70 RGB Mouse Razer Naga Hex Operating System Windows 10 Sound Card Sound Blaster Audigy Fx (I do not use this. Currently using onboard audio.)
  6. Here's a screenshot. I have the ram in A1 and B1 of this Mobo.
  7. On the main screen of the UEFI Bios, XMP is locked to the "Disabled" setting, and I can't change it.
  8. I have an ASUS Z97 Mark S Sabertooth mobo + Intel 4790k, optimized defaults loaded, and the ram is stuck running at 1333 in Windows, although recognized as 1866 in BIOS. I know I probably have to manually overclock it, but I'm not sure how to safely do so. Any help?
  9. Only running at night and when I'm at work / school, but I got my 4790k @ 4.3GhZ and my 980Ti running at half-speed and I generate a fair amount of PPD.
  10. I don't have a full plan yet, I might do that, might have another plan. Don't know mate. EDIT: Another thing, this is why i'm looking for tips, I'd like to learn about more options I have.
  11. Running game / voice servers, NAS, some web server / local web development, general use. Some virtualization as well.
  12. After closing the tab and losing about 800 words of info, and losing all of it, I'm going to keep it brief. I'm building my first rack-mounted server, and am looking for parts / hardware to complete the task. Currently I'm looking for a hard drive storage chassis (4U), and some rack-mount 2U chassis for servers I'm going to be building in them. Currently, there is no "set" price limit, however i'd like to keep it within the realm of reason. Also, if you have any tips whatsoever about building this sort of thing, please tell me! I'm looking for anything that might help me with this project. Here are some parts I've picked out, and I'll take any questions and reccomendations based on what you see here. Shame me, advise me, anything helps. Open-Frame Rack iStarWO22AB / 15AB Hard Drive Chassis iStarUSA D-400-6-RED 2U Chassis NORCO RPC-231 iStarUSA D Value D-214-MATX Processors Xeon X6550 Xeon L5430 Xeon L5420 Xeon L5410 For Mobo I'll be going with whatever suggestions I get, or a good deal on eBay for my chipsets and fits the chassis. It's mainly some power supplies I'm asking for reccomendations for. Here are some that I picked out. SeaSonic SS-400L2U Athena Power AP-U2ATX45P AP-U3ATX60FEP8 (For the hard drives, not sure of an average TDP for about 1-6 1-2TB HD's. Ignorance is bliss.) Any reccomendations that I get and see fit to include will be put up here.
