  1. So I bought a Dell Optiplex 7010 and I thought I would be able to take the PC case to a hardware store and have it removed but apparently it's a big job. So I'm planning on getting a new case and moving all parts into it. The pictures below show the setup at the moment and everything is working fine, but how long would this setup be okay for? Would it be alright for another week until a new case arrives? Thanks in advance.
  2. One more think in relation to drivers. Which GPU driver should I get for my RX 480?
  3. I know Windows 10 updates multiple times after a clean install. So is it safe to assume once I have received all updates I am okay with drivers?
  4. I have an Asus H110M-K. I am currently looking at their site for the motherboard drivers. I don't know what I should download and even if I did, I would not know which version to download of it. Please help. Link To Site: https://www.asus.com/ie/Motherboards/H110M-K/HelpDesk_Download/ - What are the most important things to install? - Which version of each important thing should I get? Thanks in advance.
  5. I think I will go for the 4GB variant as I won't be playing games at more than 1080p 144Hz. Althought I have a dual 1080p monitor setup. Thanks for the help everybody! Crazy how it went through so many cards haha.
  6. If going for the 480, would you take the 4GB or 8GB version? The 4GB is working out at €210 (Gigabyte G1 Gaming) and the 8GB is working out at €260 (€10 more than the Zotac 980)...
  7. I could go for a 480 but I will be buying used only. I also have a question regarding a 980 I was looking at. - https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/gtx-980-amp The display out information says: 3 x DisplayPort 1.2: 4K @ 60Hz HDMI 2.0: 4K @60 Hz DL-DVI: 2560x1600 Does that mean if I have a 144Hz monitor I won't be able to take advantage of it since the card only outputs @ 60Hz?
  8. Well that messes everything up so! https://seasonic.com/product/m12ii-520-evo/ My power supply has only 2 x 6/8-pin cables
  9. True sorry, meant to say Asus Strix! I'm just really scared about that R9 290X power consumption. The only reason I would consider it is because my Seasonic power supply is really a top notch power supply. The R9 290X is selling for €196. Should I just go for it? Edit: Could go for an MSI AMD Radeon R9 390X for only €252. Extra €50.
  10. Would ye recommend either the MSI Gaming 4G 970 for €194 or the EVGA Strix 970 for €174? Would the €20 extra be worth it for the MSI Card?
  11. Thanks for all the replies people. I think I will look for a more efficient second hand card. Any suggestions let me know! Looking for the best bang for my buck and that card was it!
  12. There's currently a good deal for a second hand R9 290X MSI Lightning Edition. I have a Seasonic M12II-520 Evo power supply and wondering would it be okay. The rest of my system is i5-6500 and 8GB.
  13. So I bought a G4560 with a H110M board and the BIOS needs to be updated to support this processor. So I basically need a SkyLake CPU to update the BIOS before my G4560 will work with the motherboard. My friend has an i3-6100 and he is coming later today to let me use his processor to update my motherboards BIOS, and I am just wondering will it affect anything on his computer? Would he lose files or settings or anything like that? I don't want anything to happen to his computer basically. So if I can use his CPU for 15-20 mins to update the BIOS, pop it back in his PC without a problem, that would be great.....
  14. So I was in a panic yesterday morning calling all the computer stores in my town and none of them had a SkyLake processor I could use. But then I realised I sold a computer with an i3-6100 a few months back. So I contacted the guy who I sold it to and he is bringing the computer around this evening and I am just wondering is it completely safe (when extra careful) to put his i3-6100 into my motherboard just long enough to update the BIOS? It won't affect any files or config settings on his computer would it? Please let me know because he's a nice dude and don't wanna mess up his computer. Thanks very much.
  15. That processor is not compatible with a SkyLake/KabyLake Motherboard....
  16. I think I will go for the G3900 so and hope that it shows the BIOS to be able to update it. Returning and waiting for a refund will probably take a long time since I bought from Czech Republic. We have those in Ireland yes but there is no computer parts in there at all. Dunno why but never seen any in there.
  17. Damn it..... I was so looking forward to having it up and running today, waited 2 weeks for the parts to come. Now I will need to order the G3900 from Amazon and return it after flashing. That would definitely work if I did that yes?
  18. How would I check that? If I remove the CPU.... and the motherboard is still working the GPU fans will spin right? I don't think you can access the BIOS without a CPU....
  19. I am already planning on buying the Celeron G3900 which is supported on my motherboard and update the BIOS that way to use the G4560. The only problem is I'd have to wait until next Tuesday, where I am there is no good computer shops at all, they all sell ancient stuff. There has to be a way to be able to update the BIOS without needing to see it? Like from a USB or something....
  20. Jesus how will I manage to do that?!!! There is no way I can get another CPU when I've spent so much money on a new computer already. Could you maybe see if there is a way to update the BIOS from a USB without using the monitor? I'm assuming this is the issue from now. Unless someone else can think of another problem....
  21. PCPartPicker shows it needs a BIOS update.... But how to do that? I've had that warning before and I've never had to update anything.
  22. Hi all! I just got my new computer today and put it together. It's not my first computer that I've built so you could say I'm used to building computers. But this is my first computer that I built for myself to keep in a while and of course it has problems! The problems are, and nothing has changed since I first booted up the computer; The computer turns on for about 5 seconds and all fans spin, then it shuts down, turns on again but this time stays on, all fans spinning. I have the monitor connected up to the GPU, my keyboard and mouse plugged in and my GPU fans spin but my mouse and keyboard do not light up nor does my monitor receive any signal. I have tried with VGA-DVI, DVI and HDMI. I don't have access to an older keyboard with an older connector. What I've Tried: I've reset the CMOS battery multiple times, nothing changed. I've tried many different cables for display as I mentioned above. I've taken everything apart and reconnected everything, all the way down to the CPU. I've plugged out the computer and held the Power Button for 10 seconds. Nothing has worked. My parts are: PCPartPicker part list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/vHHbd6 CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor (€59.90) Motherboard: ASRock H110M-DGS Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (€53.90) Memory: Crucial Ballistix Elite 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory (€59.90) Storage: Toshiba Q300 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased For €0.00) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB Superclocked ACX Video Card (€150.00) Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (White) ATX Mid Tower Case (€82.90) Power Supply: SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (€74.90)
  23. GPU would be possible second hand for sure. I will check that out. But as for the CPU after looking for a few minutes there is pretty much no options.
