  1. I ran a i5-4590 on it last weekend perfectally fine so would that increase the hopes of not needing to do it?
  2. There is 31 different BIOS Utilities available for Windows 8.1, which would I choose?
  3. So I've all my PC purchased and this question just came to mind, do I need to update my BIOS before using this CPU? I really hope not because I don't have another CPU to use and I don't know how to do it either.... My CPU: Intel i5-4460 Mobo: Asus H81I-Plus The rest of the PC can be viewed here - http://pcpartpicker.com/user/alannm37/saved/QLDNnQ
  4. Although I did pop in my 280x card and copied linus' overclock spreadsheet straight away haha. Might have been the reason
  5. Just checked and it was a 600B ya. It died after a day.
  6. Okay now I'm worried. If there is something I don't know about its definitely a motherboard and BIOS things. I literally have no clue even what a revision number is. A few days ago I was running an i5-4590 in this motherboard if that helps at all? Does it prove anything?
  7. Perfect so. I'll stay away from game debate from now on. Is there any other side which is better for entering specs? Since I don't have the computer yet to run the 'canirunit' test.
  8. Hi So I just bought my PC about 2 days ago and the parts will be arriving Tuesday. I was just doing some tests for games on the game-debate website and it says that my CPU is a Bottleneck.... I want to be able to run all games maxed out on ultra on 1080p, will that be an issue with the CPU? Or the computer in general? Here is what I ordered. 9. I don't have another CPU just laying around haha. I'm going to refer to the manual for updating the BIOS if it needs be.
  10. Seasonic in Ireland are way outta price range and as for EVGA B2, had one before and never again, don't like their PSU's.
  11. I've seen this many times on PCPartPicker and have never needed to do it. So how do I go about doing this?
  12. Okay so I've just finished my build, I've ordered all parts except the CPU cooler and that's where I will need some help (And some help in general with parts clearance, will there be any issue with that?). So looking below at my parts you can see I was looking at a TX3 Evo as its smaller in height than the 212 Evo, but will it be an issue with Memory slots or anything else? It's what I'm most worried about right now, parts not clearing each other so what do you think? Should I be fine? I tried filtering my parts in completed builds on PCPartPicker but cannot find anything the same. 13. I'm going to be building a i5 4460 + Zotac GeForce GTX 970, in a mini ITX case which can take a fully sized PSU. So I'm just trying to decide between the 2 PSUs mentioned in the title. Or if you could recommend another PSU which is modular and 600W+, that would be good too.
  14. Totalled me about 1000 in Euros as I live in Ireland. Not so bad as my last PC was a fx 6300 + 760 and I managed to sell it for 700 haha
  15. Haha I should have, and I would have if I could have
  16. So after 3 weeks of research and trying to some what build a "budget" gaming build I went about 600 over budget and bought the build below. The only thing that I'm worried about now is if the modular PSU that I've ordered will have all the connections needed for the build. I've linked it externally from pcpartpicker as they didn't have the exact model. Please tell me everything will be fine as I don't want to have to return, refund and change blah blah so on. Thanks :) External PSU Link - https://www.dabs.ie/products/fractal-design-intergra-m--650w--internal-power-supply-unit-B34C.html PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor (Purchased For $0.00) Motherboard: Asus H81I-PLUS Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard (Purchased For £0.00) Memory: Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Purchased For £0.00) Memory: Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Purchased For $0.00) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For £0.00) Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card (Purchased For $0.00) Case: Thermaltake Core V1 Mini ITX Tower Case (Purchased For £0.00) Case Fan: Arctic Cooling Arctic F8 31.0 CFM 80mm Fan ($0.00) Case Fan: Arctic Cooling Arctic F8 31.0 CFM 80mm Fan (Purchased For $0.00) Total: $0.00 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-06-11 23:10 EDT-0400
  17. Thanks for your help Would an extra 15 bucks for a 4590 over a 4460 be worth it? Or should I just save every penny I can for something else?
  18. So you are basically also saying to get the cheapest i5 I can get my hands on? As the performance difference is negligible....
  19. So the i5 4460 would run the same as a non-k series 4690?
  20. Really? Why is it that ye both say its not worth it?
  21. So I'm just trying to decide between the K and non-k series of the 4690 CPU. I've read online that with a BIOS update on the Asus H81 boards that it is possible to overclock but that it is very limited. So is t with to get the overclockable version of the CPU? If so what cooler would be the best but which would also fit in my ITX case?
