  1. We all know that everyone is just commenting because of free stuff, but thanks Linus Media Group! Awesome giveaway.
  2. Honestly what I like the best is the closed water cooling system, the location of the pumps seems a lot better than having it ontop of the waterblock.
  3. Ive already tried everything for it, it just isnt compatible with that PC, using my 7970 right now, the splash screen with my 7970 works perfectly even without drivers so its a hardware problem
  4. Thats what I'm doing but its strange that this card doesnt work with the board but it works with other PC's so I'm thinking the board has faults on it.
  5. its the same with all of them, thinking Ima just send my MoBo for RMA just incase, but I literally live as far away as I can from them in north America, I live in Newfoundland, St. johns, and their area is in California, just go look at them, theyre literally as far away as you can get from the habitable north american regions, so it'll cost me like 80 dollars to send it. Also do you know anyone who has a r9 285 that works perfectly on their 990fxa ud7?
  6. I went and put the bios back to where it was before I started getting these issues, going to see if it stops the errors, did you ever heard of this motherboard having issues with the splash screen with certain cards? thats the main reason I think its the board acting up, if you never seen the post here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/226350-motherboard-splash-screen-broken-with-r9-285/
  7. In that case I'll just grab a few sticks from my other PC and run the tests, if the RAM is at fault than that will clear everything up.
  8. Im thinking it might be some sort of hardware failure because everything worked perfectly before, never had errors like this on stock before.
  9. Just trying to get 1600, not trying to overclock them at all. Ill try this and test again, is the freezing issue and BSOD because of the rounding errors?
  10. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/227279-prime-95occt-cpu-errors-and-so-on/#entry3112392 I made another post with a lot more information
  11. Everything is stock, and my RAM is now down to 1333, still get the same issues so its not the ram, its either the motherboard or the CPU.
  12. Okay so I'm having multiple issues with Prime95, I ran memtest for 1 and a half passes with no error so I dont think its the memory but when I run Prime95 with everything at stock settings (Not overclocked) these happen: - FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4 - FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.484375, expected less than 0.4 - Computer Freezes - Clock_Watchdog_Timeout (BSOD) I'm trying to figure out if the CPU is failing or if its because of the Motherboard, but I think its one of the two, or both, my new r9 285 doesnt work in this system either, works in other systems but not this one, I just get a bunch of glitches (http://linustechtips...5/#entry3100510) but my 7970 seems to work perfectly in here, and has been for the past 2 years, help would be awesome! My specs are: AMD FX8350 GPU (Corsair H100) GA-990FXA-UD7 Rev1.1 Motherboard G-Skill Sniper 16 gigs Ram (4x4gig Sticks) AMD Radeon HD 7970 And heres some images BSOD Image: OCCT "Stopped, Error detected on Core #2" Trying to figure out if its a CPU or Motherboard issue, or both, Also the OCCT test before this seemed to have made my computer restart, but its not a heat issue, I wouldnt imagine it being a voltage issue either, completely at stock settings, ram at 1333 (rated for 1600)
  13. Here are the 3 graphs that OCCT gives me
  14. I'll try that, I have OCCT I just figured they were both pretty much the same for CPU (OCCT and Prime95). Thanks Ill get back to you on that
  15. 16. Yeah still get the errors, honestly think its a motherboard issue, I ran memtest through 1 pass, no errors, Ill run it through more passes later, Im thinking it might be a MoBo but its generally the same cores that fail, so not sure?
  17. Why do you sound so certain? the ram has worked perfectly for years at these settings Not trying to sound rude, just curious as to why you think its the ram
  18. I tested it twice before with that gpu in the system, both failed on the first test. This one is onto the 4th test and still no fails, though I anticipate working it for another while. Not overclocked but its strange, Ive been getting issues that noone has seen before, like go check this out http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/226350-motherboard-splash-screen-broken-with-r9-285/#entry3100443, thats some of the problems ive been having, but changing out that graphics card seems to just fix everything, so it really seems to be a compatibility issue here, Ive talked extensively with Gigabyte, AMD and Sapphire and neither of them have ever heard of these issues before.
  19. So recently ive won a graphics card from AMD, Ive had all kinds of problems with it so I got a new one and had the same problems, I think its a compatibility issue, but anyways I ran prime95 to see if maybe it was a CPU issue, I got the error "rounding was 0.5 expected 0.4" on the first blend test, so I changed back to my 7970 and the test is working fine now? I figured the gpu wouldnt be the cause for a cpu intensive program but can it? very strange.
  20. Already talked with sapphire a TON, we tried everything and nothing works. They think its a compatibility issue as well and pretty much said all they can do is do an RMA if the card isnt working, said they cant do anything about compatibility issues, As in they dont know whats going on so ughhh, hope gigabyte knows whats up hahaha Also talked with AMD before about the other broken card, they just sent a new card because they thought it was broken, so they didnt know anything about it either. Very strange... Being the (apparently) only person in the world with this issue
  21. Baha, you tried Ive already talked extensively with Sapphire, they know nothing about it. Going to contact Gigabyte now... Hope I get some luck here or there lol
