    Binning.
Great option for people just drooling for that 120Hz hires miniLED screen (and out-of-this-world battery life) and wanting to acquire it at the lower price possible. I wouldn’t overthink them too much, unless one has specific needs.

In general I sort of agree but then we have to fall back to Intel's real world application performance presentation which was misleading and featured multiple different applications. Only those in the know could figure out what was going on. Here we have everything relative to the M1, which benchmarks exist for and the core architecure as far as we know is the same, Firestorm and Icestorm. They disclosed the test systems they compared to so you can go look at reviews for those and compare to the M1, you can then increase the performance as per the indicated relative performance to the original M1.

You won't find me defend an Apple presentation slide often, if ever until now, but what they showed is very fair and not really all that misleading.

And a MacBook Air with the M1 running Final Cut or iMovie will be faster than most things anyway.

This is what apple says they compared the GPU performance to:

Testing conducted by Apple in August and September 2021 using pre-production 16-inch MacBook Pro systems with Apple M1 Max, 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU and 64GB of RAM, and pre-production 16-inch MacBook Pro systems with Apple M1 Pro, 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU and 32GB of RAM. Performance measured using selected industry‑standard benchmarks. Discrete PC laptop graphics performance data from testing Lenovo Legion 5 (82JW0012US). High-end discrete PC laptop graphics performance data from testing MSI GE76 Raider (11UH-053). PC compact pro laptop performance data from testing Razer Blade 15 Advanced (RZ09-0409CE53-R3U1). Performance tests are conducted using specific computer systems and reflect the approximate performance of MacBook Pro.

They look pretty good to me!

You thought getting a replacement MiniLED display was going to be easy to begin with?

It's double-fast as the previous SSDs, so at least you're getting pretty top-of-the-line speed.

Because if you watched the presentation, Apple decided to expand the display up into where the black area typically was. This means you now get the full screen aspect ratio without the menu bar, which is a tradeoff I can completely understand and accept.

Which ones? The ones I were looking at were actually correctly done this time.

Correctly labelled X and Y with values and proper scale. Actually good job Apple, done it correctly this time.

As a reminder of the garbage they did last time

So yea, Apple can listen to valid criticism.

Apparently the Max GPU is 55 W so 1/6 or something of a 3080

    EDIT:// I can’t confirm the 55 W claim so treat it as a rumor

No, you're right. McDonalds, who spent more than USD $1b on technology in FY2020 and believes that digital innovation is a key driver to their growth, hasn't considered cyber security and industry best-practices.

Just because their primary product isn't tech related, doesn't mean that McDonalds doesn't contract out their tech to someone who should know better, or employ hundreds of people to manage their technology, networks and infrastructure, who should also know better.

Still doesn't make any sense to me. You still need a computer to access the remote PC. Surely anything that can remote in to this virtual PC can do a better job natively than 1 CPU and 2GB of ram hosted halfway across the country.
Let's say for example an office worker has an old 3rd Gen Intel core i3 dual core system with 8gb of ram. What would be the point of using it to remotely access the 1vCPU+2gb windows365 system?
