  1. if you have the spare cash go the 980ti... if you dont ide go 980.... i have a 970 and its fantastic but price constraints and my limited pc gaming hurt me, for 1080p though it works great and i run a second monitor
  2. cpu 8 pin extension cabe... plenty on ebay or any reputable online pc store, i dont knwo where you are if us - newegg, if aus - pccasegear.com or msy.com.au or UK/europe ide say amazon.co.uk
  3. keen for episode 3 in the series to come out today... oh wait it would still be saturday over there...
  4. Norton used to be bad, i found in recent years it has picked up its game. I personally prefer bitdefender but when your buying 5-7 licenses for various computers in the house, value tends to win you over each year. SSD's do make it a bit better.
  5. 1gb of ram is going to struggle these days, coupled with it being DDR2 i wouldn't necessarily hold to much hope. Java was the reason i upgraded my ram, but i went overboard and now have atleast 50% spare at all times...
  6. i would say go gpu first... then if you can save up then go the cpu and motherboard
  7. for some ideas in aus i recommend msy.com.au and pccasegear.com for parts shipping was reasonable and if you live locally to an msy you can save a bundle by going into the store... your budget seems pretty good, you could literally almost get all of the best gear going round for that kind of money, even in high price AUS edit - for keyboard/mouse do you have a budget in mind for those, as you can go cheaper on those items to save for more cash elsewhere
  8. Why would you want to increase the minimum cpu speed? i would bet you would only see 800mHz when idling anyway
  9. i run norton because i can buy multi license for cheap. i further run ccleaner (clean out junk and registry - is free) as well as malwarebyte anti-malware free version and run periodic scans... havnt had a virus in years
  10. a hot back of a spoon directly onto the bite will destroy the poison (not so hot it burns you), failing that stingoes is pretty good soure - http://lifehacker.com/use-a-hot-spoon-to-instantly-relieve-itchy-bug-bites-615912899
  11. random, but do you have User account control set to on/notify maybe try disabling it source - https://www.java.com/en/download/help/exception_access.xml
  12. @LinusTech i feel that intel needs to create a great line of just cpus (without the onboard graphics). I would say similar to what you suggested AMD are doing, i think it would give people the ability to probably get more cores for their money for a better cpu.. something like the intel 6 core (cpu only) for the price of a 4core + gpu... i would be all up in that considering i run dedicated graphics cards in everything and have essentially no use for integraded chip
