escape093 got a reaction from Blademaster91 in Gamers Nexus alleges LMG has insufficient ethics and integrity
What has Steve criticized LMG for that he is also guilty of himself? The argument seems to be "not having journalistic integrity", despite the fact that Steve displayed examples, cited sources, gave context and the like. Steve's videos are well edited, pretty well clear of mistakes, all thanks to a very flexible upload schedule and content production pipeline. He doesn't review products he has a significant investment in, and steers clear of conflicts of interest in his videos. But no, he had the audacity to not reach out to Linus before dropping the video, depriving him of the opportunity to sew the seeds of doubt in the community, so now he "lacks journalistic integrity", apparently just as much Linus who lept at the opportunity to go on damage control and misrepresent the timeline of events.

    Give me a break.

How can many people own something, that is the only thing in existence, a one of a kind prototype? And it's only advertised for sale on preorder, which means it has not been (mass) produced yet.

"With the release of Kaby Lake, Intel are now offering Pentium branded CPUs with Hyperthreading, allowing consumers to get two cores and four threads at some insanely low prices."

Above is a screen grab from Intel ARK of the specs of the G4620, one of these nifty new hyperthreaded Kaby Lake Pentiums.

Also from the article linked above is this handy table with the newly-launched Pentium SKUs:

A lot of gamers have been avoiding Pentiums due to their lack of threads, but that could change a little with these new CPUs, which have 4 threads, which will hopefully allow for games like Far Cry 4, which uses 4 threads (rather unnecessarily), to be playable without any workarounds. Emulation enthusiasts who are strapped for cash may also find these to be an attractive buy, as they offer excellent single-threaded performance (which emulators heavily rely on), without heavily compromising on the ability to use multi-threaded applications, and should be reasonably faster in PCSX2, which can take advantage of more than 2 threads.

With Ryzen right around the corner, this does seem just a little bit late, but it shows that Intel isn't completely brain-dead/sitting on its ass, but I am curious to see if Intel will apply this to their other CPUs and give us quad-core i3s and eight-thread i5s, especially now that Ryzen looks more compelling than ever.

Those appear to be pretty high-quality capacitors (haven't looked into them, just eyeballing) so I'd assume quality is fine, wouldn't expect it to perform flawlessly electrically seeing its price. Check warranty info and if the warranty is more than a couple years then it's probably an OK thing to buy
