  1. I built a computer about a year ago. It has worked fine ever since, but a few days ago it suddenly would not boot by default to the SSD RAID 0 array. It comes up with a screen (see attached DSC07700.JPG) prompting which drive to boot to. When I select SSD array it is fine and boots to windows. Is there a solution to make it boot to the SSDs by default? I have flashed the BIOS to the latest version (3003). I have also launched this year Windows (10) in safe mode. Neither made a difference. Also earlier this year I did a BIOS update. The BIOS update worked and the computer has been fine but when you turn the computer on it shows the American Megatrends inc. screen. Is this part of the problem? Also during POST this screen appears (attached below DSC07695.JPG). Specs: CPU: intel i7 4790k MOBO: Asus maximus VII impact RAM: hyperX ddr3 black 1866MHz GPU: MSI r7 360 CASE: Corsair obsidion 250D CPU cooler: Cooler master Geminii m4 PSU: Antec edge 650 SSD: 2 intel 730 240gb in RAID 0 HDD: 3tb WD green Optical: Asus CD/DVD read/wirte drive
  2. i can try my r9 390x in an verified working system
  3. x99 and 2011-3 don't have on board graphics
  4. I think one of the parts in my system is preventing the BIOS from working. Can anyone help me with this? I have already replaced the motherboard twice. My system is: CPU: 5820k Motherboard: MSI X99A SLI Plus CPU Cooler: Cooler Master hyper 612 v2 Graphics Card: PowerColour Radeon r9 390x pcs+ 8gb Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2800 16gb CMK16GX4M4A2800C16 @ 2133 Power Supply: Cooler Master B2 700w SSD: Kingstone v300 240GB HDD: WD 3TB green Optical drive: Asus optical drive When I try to POST outside of the case I can get into the BIOS but half of the submenus and all of the button in the BIOS when clicked make the system freeze and the only way to fix this is to power down. I am wondering if one of my components is preventing the BIOS from working. The only components I could test with verified working components is the power supply, the graphics card and the CPU cooler, although I have not done this yet. My suspicion is the memory because is in not on the qualified memory vendor list of the motherboard and the motherboard does not support 2800. In the BIOS the RAM is recognised but is at 2133 and I cannot change it. According to the PC Parts Picker site and the LTT forum the memory should be compatible.
  5. I have tried to BIOS flash the motherboard but when I go to the BIOS flash tab and try to update the BIOS the BIOS just freezes.
  6. Is it possible to BIOS flash the motherboard from a USB without an OS installed?
  7. I just got the parts for my new computer and I assembled it outside of the case and tried to do a POST. The system successfully POSTed and I got into the MSI quick BIOS 4 but when I go to the settings tab or the save/load BIOS settings tab and then go to any of the sub menus the BIOS just freezes. My system is: CPU: 5820k GPU: PowerColor Radeon R9 390X PCS+ Motherboard: MSI X99A SLI Plus Power Suply: Cooler Master B2 Series 700W Case: Deepcool Tesseract SW CPU cooler: Coolermaster Cooler Master Hyper 612 V2 Drive: Kingston SV300S37A/240G + WD 3tb green Optical drive: ASUS DRW-24D3ST Also when I go into the Hardware Monitoring tab and move the mouse outside of the window, the mouse leaves a track on the screen. I have tried it on both BIOSs and the same happens for each.
  8. Could you run the memory at 2800 using the XPM profile even though the mother board does not support 2800?
  9. Even though the motherboard does not support DDR4 2800, could you run it as if you had manually over clocked it? If not could you over clock it to something like 3000 because I am assuming that running it a slower supported speed will also void your warranty?
  10. I am going to be building a new system and I was wondering if my Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M4A2800C16 (Black) 16GB Kit (4Gx4) DDR4 2800 is compatible with a MSI X99A SLI Plus motherboard? The rest of my system is: CPU: 5820k GPU: PowerColor Radeon R9 390X PCS+ Motherboard: MSI X99A SLI Plus Power Suply: Cooler Master B2 Series 700W Case: Deepcool Tesseract SW CPU cooler: Coolermaster Cooler Master Hyper 612 V2 Drive: Kingston SV300S37A/240G + WD 3tb green Optical drive: ASUS DRW-24D3ST
