I agree man, but most of the world is ok with giving up liberties and freedom for security. even if that security is a lie. which most are.
also you should note that there are a lot of individuals in the world that cannot see past their own bullshit in life. so they simply do not and will not care. deliberately.

I agree. although considering how many people are on iOS, stuff like this will only continue to get worse before it gets better. (think, wack-a-mole)

    yes.
I haven't used an AV since 2007. I always turn UAC off, its super annoying. Firewall.. I only touch it when I want to block a program from using the net.
and as far as "sensible browsing habbits" go, well.. I have adblock installed, which covers most malware on the web (most, not all though)
but always remember, most (70-80%?) of OS infections are caused by the user.

    sort of like car accidents.

Yeah, but he had to know that from the very start.
I don't buy that he had a sudden realization about what the app did and how it would/could effect such things.

I'd put more weight with the idea of a company paying to have the developer pull down a popular ad blocking app or him needing money and putting it up for a couple days to make some quick cash before "realizing what he did".
Even if he is offering a refund I doubt many people will ask for one and he'll still have a fair chunk of change.
If he had really felt bad then he would have given everyone a refund a pushed an update that made the app not function.

Sorry, what I'm getting at is the idea that he had a sudden change of concision and only thought of how this would effect businesses' ad revenue and such AFTER he developed and submitted it.
I find that hard to believe.

I disagree entirely, ads on mobile are the one place they shouldn't be. That is where data caps actually matter AND ads on mobile are 100x more intrusive than desktop.

I don't agree, too many fucking app devs cramp their shitt ads all over their apps because they have a shitty buisness model.

Kurosaki Isshin reacted to Sauron in Computers 'do not improve' pupil results, says OECD
The use of technology in school should improve student and teacher coordination, not the amount a student learns. If a student wasn't learning as much without technology, there would be something seriously wrong with the teaching. Using a laptop as opposed to a bagful of books and notebooks for example vastly reduces the load a student has to carry on his/her back and allows a faster and more efficient deployment of school texts and exercises as well as making handing in assignments a lot less chaotic and easier on everyone involved. Pertinent media can be accessed directly on the student's terminal. Information that is not provided directly by the school can be searched and accessed in a matter of seconds. What's not to like?

EXCEPT... this only works if everyone involved knows how to use the system. Unfortunately a lot of teachers take pride -yes, I said pride- in not understanding technology. They will refute anything that is not the 50-year-old way of doing things that they used when they were in high school, and if forced to do so will do all they can to not make it work and blame the technology for every problem they have. It is therefore no wonder that the systems implemented up to now have mostly been ineffective. What's the point of using a car if the guy who's supposed to drive it insists on pushing it on foot? Not only that, but schools tend to buy the cheapest equipment possible expecting it to be perfectly fine for 10 years, when it'll be borderline unusable in a month. What advantage can you possibly take from using a computer if it takes 15 minutes to boot it and open the program you need? If it becomes sluggish whenever you open anything more than notepad? If it uses windows xp and outdated software and doesn't let you update any of it?

What does using computers have to do with grades? It would improve how good you are with computers.. your grades for classes are irrelevant to PC's IMO.

Do I have access to PC's at my school? Yes.
Does it improve learning impact? Uhh.. Try writing C# code on paper. It doesn't work.

It has nothing to dow ith pure performance; the t100ta supports the full desktop adobe suite. The ipad pro does not, nor does it offer any comparable software. And if looks are the best you can do to justify buying a product, go to a jewelry store; this is a tech forum, not a fashion website.

Hence why it's bs and borderline false advertisement. You can't do any serious work of any description on it, save maybe some office, and you hardly need an 1000$ 13" tablet for that.
