At MINIMUM 1 TB ram is needed. Recommended specs are 2x 9900k CPUs, 2x 2080Ti or higher,  and only Gen 4 NVME SSDs.

If you need more speed, replace the CPU with a faster one with the same TDP or buy a faster Mac.

It wouldn't hurt to check the die and see if it needs new paste. Preventative maintenance 🙂

Don't put it in rice.  There is rice dust that can get into the component.

Rice absorbs water, yes.  Air drying does the same thing.

Leave it alone for a couple days, or put it in the path of moving air to help it.

You always take the risk of getting advice from someone on a forum who proports to know more than they really do. However, the forum offers something that these worthless calculators do not:

A chance to explain your reasoning. Any one of us users can dig into the meat of the question, ask about the software being used and provide an explanation for hardware suggestions. Is the CPU underpowered? Why? What would help? Generalist recommendations are not a problem because the advice isn't about the exact system performance down to the last pixel calculation. A percentage attached to a bottleneck just isn't a useful figure compared to someone saying why a CPU with more cores or faster clocks might be better in a specific case.

A few, myself included have already said the chip itself WILL work, you just won't have onboard audio "As Is".

You can place a pin in the socket if you want to try it but I would also expect issues (No guarantees) since it would be a loose/poor connection.
It could work fine or have weird noises, audio clipping (Cutting in and out?) from the onboard audio....
I mean expect things to not be 100% but you can still try it and see if you really want to.
A simple strand of copper wire of the right size, cut to proper length and inserted into the socket is all you need.

Gluing the pin back in place probrably won't work since the glue would act as an insulator, being it would have to be between the pin and spot on the chip just to hold and glue in general isn't conductive. There may be some glues you could use that's conductive (I'm not aware of any that are TBH) but it's just less of a headache to just find a cheap sound card and do it that way.

Sound cards tend to sound better than onboard audio anyway as I know from experience.

Are you able to return the CPU for a new one? If you're still saving money for the parts, then the few weeks for an RMA shouldn't be a huge deal. If the random people on reddit referenced in this thread are correct, then without that pin you won't be able to have working audio on your motherboard. And while sound cards are cheap, I don't know whether that issue would also extend to expansion cards or external sound cards.
