Try to get the most current card you can. GPU market is on a steady decline, so if you can hold out for a 3XXX series card, that might be the better choice. Unless you can stumble upon a dirt cheap 2XXX series card.
I'm helping a friend of mine and he is dead set on this case. He also wants to air cool. The question is will a beefy cooler like the Nocuta NH-D15 or the Deepcool Assassin III fit inside of it? I tried looking and couldn't get a definite answer, so I thought I'd try here
Before the pandemic, my 2080 Super came in plastic wrap and box was sealed from Amazon. Bought straight from Amazon. I can't say how they are packaged now since I haven't bought one recently.
Did you use DDU? It will clean up previous drivers and hidden display drivers. When switching over to AMD from Nvidia or vice versa, its recommended to run it so you'll have a pure and fresh installation of the driver you're getting.
Would you happen to have a new RAM kit to test? Was your B550 ready for your CPU before installing? I know sometimes mobos need updating before putting new gen CPUs in them.
Generally a good rule of thumb is getting the best two performing sticks at the capacity you want. Unless we are talking threadripper, then four sticks is not necessarily better than having two.
AMD is doing a refresh of the 5XXX CPUs and eventually moving to DDR5 at some point. Price marks are going to be coming in on the 5XXX and 3XXX chips again soon.
The 6700k is aging. I'll say for what my wife plays its fine. She doesn't run any MMOs but plays Sims 4, Apex Legends, and Halo Infinite. Its also paired with a GTX 1070 and overclocked to 4.7GHz.
