SnafuPossum got a reaction from Quist_ in Gaming on an UnRaid NAS server using a Razer Core setup?
That is something that you would have to probably contact unraid about to see if they have implemented it yet, if it is possible to do so. The way thunderbolt external gpus work is only partially a operatiing system issue though. A lot of it is low level bios stuff because of the way it communicates which unraid with a os stacked on top of it may not be able to do, and if so it will take a long time to work out the bugs. Just look back at many years it has taken for the oem system builders to make fully working products... most of them started to talk about working or showed samples years ago and we have just started to get the generation of products I feel are ready for prime time.

For the 1% of gamers that sit on forums all day bickering about this stuff you are correct. But for the masses these are a great product. who would you want to sell to, 1% that thinks because its labeled gaming headset its automatically bad, or the 99% that see gaming headset and think sweet this will work perfect for gaming while they are looking at games in the game section of a store in a gaming mindset.

Most people wont go to the headphone section by the phone accessories and or home theaters and go man I bet these will sound amazing while I play games, but if those same headphones are placed in the gaming section with other gaming peripherals they will associate it with gaming. OH WAIT... that is exactly what these do...

SnafuPossum got a reaction from darklord6661 in Wireless AC file transfer speeds
I have found that with changing out routers, wifi cards, pcs, etc that even with the ac standard that upstream is not very good. Maybe commercial grade stuff is better but it seems consumer grade wifi reserves all its speed for sending data to wireless devices, and ends up hindering the upstream throughput on those devices since almost no one would notice the difference. Here are my results

wifi pc -----> wired pc  ~30mb/s
wifi pc -----> wifi pc     ~15-25mb/s depending on connection quality
wired pc --> wired pc  ~105-110mb/s which is about where my data drives max out
wired pc --> wifi pc      ~70-95mb/s depending on signal strength

These results were with a asus ux 305 laptop, tp-link archer t9e in a desktop, and netgear nighthawk r8000 router which has provided me with the best results out of my test.

    Hey Possum,
Thanks for that. Good to see that I'm not the only one.
Thankfully, I didn't invest much money into AC as it was just a new router supplied by ISP so I wasn't expecting great results. I had tried a Linksys AC router before that and had similar issues though.
Getting the Note 5 then so I'll see if it makes a difference. Otherwise, I'll stick to my wired clients for transferring files...

SnafuPossum got a reaction from as96 in Start running?
more you do it the better you will get. like others have said, pace yourself as well. if you happen to have a 400 meter track around, a good start is run the straights walk the turns 4-8 laps, work up to running one of the turns and walking the other, then after that just run until you feel you need to take a break and walk and walk the next turn and continue running again until you can run the 4 to 8 laps(1 to 2 miles) you have set for yourself to acheive. After your body reaches that point, running longer distances will be a piece of cake.

When I say run though, I dont mean sprint, just jog to fast jog. also dont expect to be running 4-8 laps in a weeks worth of training. it may take a month, it may take a couple months. If you havent run very much in recent times you have to remember running uses some different muscles then cycling and that is a big part of this unseen fatigue you are noticing.

But the windows updater doesnt have the proper driver. It is a seperate entity from your currently installed os which probably auto downloaded the drives when you first booted up with the ssd installed.

I would only get a gsync monitor is you plan on keeping that setup for a long time because eventually the 980ti's will begin to struggle with newer and more unoptimized, ern I mean "demading" games come out and the gsync will keep things going buttery smooth for longer.
