ah that explains it. Well, I guess you get what you pay for
I doubt it's related to this problem though. I would try reinstalling the game, as suggested.
This is actually the only issue that I have ever had with getting the N version, otherwise it is just like a normal OS. I will try reinstalling it though.

Then this raises some questions. @Pugsicle, aren't you in the US? I just assumed based on some of your posts involving Amazon...
I am from the US, I bought the key online and the N version was cheaper.

I recently have been getting the error that dependency MFREADWRITE.DLL is missing and I need to reinstall the game ever since my OS did some updates. I do have Windows 10 N and I went to Microsoft's website and got the media package, but I am still getting the errors. How can I fix this?

Why don't you just try to restore windows to a date before you installed those 2 programs?
-
Open Control Panel.
-
Search Control Panel for Recovery.
-
Select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.
-
Choose the restore point related to the problematic app, driver, or update, and then select Next > Finish.
Or you could just reset windows:
Settings > Update & security > Reset this PC > Get started> Select the option to keep your files, so the only thing modified is Windows.
You can use the same method to fully reset the system too, deleting everything that was in the disc.
Because I'm dumb and dont have any recovery points made. How would I get into the settings without the start menu? That's usually how I get into the control panel.

i'd say collect all your important files and nuke the OS
The OS is on an ssd, do you know of any way that I can nuke it? Looks like boot and nuke will not work on ssds.

I recently downloaded two programs called Clover and Autoruns for Windows and once I ran them and used them for a bit, I am now not able to use the start menu, search function, and for some reason my computer will not connect to the internet (it clearly says I am in the taskbar and I am hard wired so there is no issue there). When I click on the start menu it does not do anything, the search function at least tries but then collapses after its open for a second. Should I just do a clean install and start over? What do you guys recommend that I should do? I am currently running Windows 10.

sound dampening foam is not the same as acoustic insulation
sound dampening foam reduces reflections to minimize echo, bass reverberations, or high frequency reflections
acoustic isolation is a thick "insulation -like" material that you put between two walls and costs a metric ton of money
this is what keeps sound from leaking to the rest of your house
they usually need to be put between walls during house construction because a lot of it is toxic
So since sound dampening foam reduces echo, could I put the foam around my desk on the wall to reduce the noise that bounces off of the wall? I have no idea if that is correct I am just guessing.

I want to get some sound dampening foam because I game a bit at night and since I still live with my family they complain sometimes that they can here me despite my efforts to be quieter. I found a website that sells some for pretty cheap (Here is the website) but I am not sure what kind to get. Anyone have any experience with this? Any pros and cons of each kind?

May need to reinstall driver
I did and no luck. Windows and other games recognize them, just not bf4.

What kind of controller?
A wireless xbox one controller (with receiver before you say I need that) and an official wired xbox controller.
-
I am trying to set up a controller for bf4 for flying and I had it working about 2 months ago, but since then I have gotten a wireless xbone controller. Now bf4 will not recognize a controller, even my wired one which was working before. Any advice?

Did you format the drive, or a partition on the drive?
The entire drive, or I am pretty sure it was the entire drive.

it's clearly hasn't been wiped properly...
I know, do you have any idea how I can fix it?

I am attempting to repair windows because I tried to wipe an old hard drive in order to make the computer it was in a file server. So I did it a way that was most likely wrong and formatted the drive. It said it was empty and put it back in that computer to load up linux. I got a windows error even though I just wiped it. I downloaded an iso in attempt to repair then wipe it the right way, but it will not let me. This is the screen it gives me. Here is a video of what it does when I click enter and f8. How can I fix this?

One of my computers is having issues with wifi speeds and ping in game. Everything else running off of wifi has no issues what so ever but this computer seems to spike a lot. This is the wifi adapter it is using. It worked fine for about a month and now it works only some of the time. What could be the issue?
-
You probably have a piezo buzzer in there. You can look up the motherboard and see what each beep means. Usually one or two beeps mean that it booted normally.
-
I don't see the issue, how is that bad?
-
The only faster way would be to purchase the cards yourself.
- GoldSrc and SinisterHumanoid
- 2
-
Would boot and nuke be the proper way to wipe the drive?
-
Try spamming the delete key after turning the computer on.
I am pretty sure I tried that at some point but I will try again.
-
Could you maybe make it the main drive in another pc with the mentioned GPU to allow you to use HDMI?
I could but I thought windows doesn't cope very well with switching motherboards around?
-
Correct me if im wrong but cant some mobos have boot order menu key bound differently to the bios menu key binding or can you still access boot order through bios? Atleast this is what ive found though out the laptops and pre builts ive had my hands on?
I am pretty sure this one the boot order button is different but like I said, the screen doesn't pop up fast enough unless it's on HDMI and the only way that computer could have HDMI is with a video card and honestly I don't feel like taking out my GPU and putting it in there. I don't think it will even fit anyways.
