  1. I was already planning a large upgrade and this would be perfect considering I've been wanting to do this since Luke's was showcased.
  2. Okay So I'm getting a Bitfenix Prodigy For my girlfriend's new computer So I wanted to make a small quiet cpu for her. So I've decided to go with A Red (her favorite color) Bitfenix Prodigy. But what I'm really stuck at is which cooler I should get for an AMD A8-5600k (we're amd people) OC'd to about 4.0 Ghz? My top choices were a Silverstone Heligon HE-01, a Noctua NH-D14, a Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK, or a Zalman CNPS12x. Will any of these be good for a small form factor that these heatsinks will have only a few centimeters from the top fans or should i just go with an h100i? At prices in order from left to right (from newegg.com in dollars) 74.99, 78.99, 79.99, 99.99, or for the h100i 109.99. Which for these would be the best price for cooling option? There will also be a 660 ti in this bad boy for those who are wondering.
  3. because i have a h70 in the front top
  4. I use front top as intake and back top as exhaust
  5. looks like a nice case but i wish they had a bluck/blue rather than white/blue
  6. not a big fan of the HAF series because they just have poor aesthetics
  7. should i be able to get reasonable temps for 3.8~4.0 ghz from an H70 in push?
  8. I need a new case that fits a Primary:Black/Secondary:White/Tertiary:Blue Color scheme for under $100 it need to have 240 mm rad support IN THE TOP 60mm preferably but 50mm minimum, A side window is preferable but not a deal breaker, NO SIDE FAN MOUNTS IF IT HAS A WINDOW (nothing uglier than those machined slots in the plexi) Removable hard drive cages are a HUGE plus especially if there are two seperate hard drive cages and wire managemet is a must have. I can deal with no painted interior if there its no window. I need at least 3 5 1/4 inch bays and a standard 7 pci slots is whats in mind. Now people of the interwebs FETCH!
  9. surprisingly i'm not a big fan of coolermaster don't know why just wasn't really impressed aesthetically
  10. been looking at those but i'm not a big fan of the c70 but the phantom 410 i do like
  11. Okay so for my birthday i am upgrading my systems mobo and case, i have decided on the Asrock Extreme3 970 motherboard (Yes i have AMD), but i have an h70 cooler and i need a way to intergrate it withough being on exhaust, so I am kind of set on the nzxt tempest 410 elite but i need to know should i go ahead and put a 50mm rad in a roof of something with just enough clearance (literally 50mm clearance), or should i go with a corsair carbide 400r or posibly the H2. I want a cheap case >$120, and have to be mid-tower preferably with a window.
  12. i got it for a steal and it's beeter than the stock cooler :l, just wanted to let people know not to make drastic decisions when it comes to your computer
  13. So for christmas my father got me a keyboard i already have, so we wen't recently to return it. Luckily he bought it from compusa (tigerdirect warehouse) so i went in originally looking for a mousepad and a soundcard... Bad news they didn't have either of what i was looking for so after about an hour of wandering i found myself looking at coolers... And i thought "hmm, it maybe time to replace that stock cooler i hate so much!", so i found the h70 core was on sale of 65% ($45), so i though with a deal like that i might as well get it. Now this being my first adeventure in not just watercooling but in coolers in general. (My dad installed my stock cooler) So I knew from the beginning I knew the V3 was not compatible with liquid cooling. I didn't realise how much of a problem that really would be. So when i finally got this home i was so excited i moved my led fan to the front and my black to the back knowing where i wanted to put the rad and contemplating the position of the rad all ove the case. So once i got it all situtated i got my alchohol prep pads (a 1" square pad soaked in alchohol used for cleaning skin), and had to figure out how the hell to take of and AMD stock cooler. Needless to say i was overly cautious and when i heard the thermal compuond making this cracking noise i expected the worst. But once i finally pried that peice of junk off i was surprised at the color of the compound. So i asked my stepfather to help me with this project. So first thing i need to say is corsair your instructions need to be more detailed it was confusing as hell just to figure out the bracketing mount. once we got it all together we decided it was time to install the cooler and we realised it didn't fit. We looked at the packaging and found longer screws and off everything comes and on everything goes back. To discover the are still too short! I look at the only screws we have left... The rad screws and i said "Maybe these are long enough", so we try them but the back plate threading isn't thin enough... So we expirement with the stock back plate to find the threading is perfect! So here i am with this cooler installed to ask "Now where in the hell are we going to put this rad?" After multiple take offs and put ons we found a configuration that works... But the fan is on the outside because i know i wanted it in pull configuration. So we soon discover the cable is not long enough i told him screw it the pump is going in a molex to three pin connecter... So the mounting hardware is not the cases fault but the motherboard's fault so i do not recommend the beginner builder to try to instal a corsair hydro series to a Biostar motherboard or in a thermaltake V3... The temperatures weren't satisfying so i am going to go get new compound this weekend! Wish me further luck... Oh, and by the way tonight i will fix the pump wire
