  1. In honor of the Olympics in Rio this year, I decided that I would try to make a cool wallpaper to commemorate that.

This is my first attempt after learning graphic design somewhat, so tell me what you guys think. (This is VERY close to 1440p Compatible, give it a try)

Thanks.  You would format the new SSD in disk management first before migrating right so that Windows recognized it right?  Also I'm looking at the EaseUS Todo Backup option is there any reason to get the paid versions?  It looks like for my use (just keeping the OS, programs/licenses, system settings) the free version should suffice.

I would format it maybe, but it will be overwritten once you copy with EaseUS Todo to it.

Yeah, the free version will do you just fine. Glad I could help

  3. You'll need software that will migrate all of the partitions and stuff

You can find great guides via google/youtube search, here is my (Simplified) experience:

Got new drive, hook it up, check it out in disk management

Got EaseUS Todo Backup, made sure drive got recognized

Copied all partitions of my C drive to the new drive, took not too long

Try to boot off new SSD

If successful, reformat the old drive fro future use (optional)

    done

  4. Try this:

What is the benefit of buying the i7-6700k over the i5-6600k?

It has more cores, so you can do more stuff at the same time.

Now with your use case, I don't think you have to use all $1500 towards your build, because you are getting a little more performance for way more money (for the things you do)

I am coming up with a better list for a lower price right now...

I will check it out and post a list

If i can handle AAA games i would most likely switch over to a pc gamer (Buying latest games on PC instead of console).

    Is 1440x900 a good resolution.

The only other tasks would be watching streams, videos, and just browsing the web. I do not plan on recording or editing any videos nor do I plan on streaming.

OK, this sounds good. I have to go to bed because it is late, but I will help you tomorrow. Can't wait to help you :)

  7. I have built my new computer, and it rocks!

However, my current keyboard and mouse suck. (They came with a refurbished $150 prebuilt. Yikes.)

I am not too serious about my peripherals, and I have a smallish budget

I kind of want to survey my options here and I am wondering these 2 things:

    1. Is the CM Storm Devastator KB+M bundle a good option as far as bundles go? Is there a better option for the price or just in general?

    2. What would be a good KB and Mouse that would be under $100?

    Requirements:

No frills, or at least kept to a minimum

Is fairly durable, and comes from a reputable brand

Full sized keyboard, including full sized keys (no slim chicklet laptop-eske crap)

Optional, but I would love some backlighting

Mechanical would be nice, but I don't think I could fit in one that would last and has no frills and cheapness. So, lets just stick to membrane/enhanced membrane switches.

Thanks again forum, you are the opposite of the YouTube Comments section (Except for the flame wars at times lol)

Dunno what should i buy now :/

Zen or Skylake. Haswell is ok, but Skylake only costs a teeny tiny amount more for a bigger performance gain.

For example, I was going to get a Haswell build, but I discovered the comparable RAM, MOBO, and CPU only cost $3 more.

EDIT: Pricing varies, so use Haswell if you have to, AMD's current DDR3 CPU's aren't that viable.

  9. Hello, I just made my new computer and I am on it right now!

    (living the dream man)

I am having a problem with it

Whenever i move it too much, it turns off

I know there can be many things wrong, so can you guys throw a bunch of ideas at me?

    Thx

Ubisoft support suggested I port forward my router so that Rainbow Six Siege won't give me such high pings and have ping spikes.

So, I'm going to portforward my router.

My parents said no to it though, because they don't want me to screw up the internet for the rest of them.

How can I explain to them what it is and how it won't screw things up?

They no absolutely nothing about this, so I can't find a good way to word it.

If somebody could help me that would be fantastic.

    Thank you!

It does NOTHING to affect your experience, they are just routing traffic through a "road" you aren't even using.

Any changes in speed are extremely negligible.
