  1. Heya lovely folks, I need a bit of help finding a motherboard. I want to know if there were any M-ATX Z97 motherboards made that were capable of distributing the PCIe lanes in a x8-x4-x4 configuration among PCIe slots OR had a PLX chip that allowed them to allocate minimum 8-4-2 bandwith to their three PCIe slots. There were plenty of full ATX motherboards that could do this. The MSI Z97 Gaming 5, for example, was capable of x8-x4-x4 without a PLX chip (cause there's 16 PCIe lanes from the CPU); but I'd like to know if there were any similar motherboards in an M-ATX form factor. Love to see if anyone can find me an answer. Cheers :)
  2. Ok, so I may be being stupid, but here's my situation: I've built my rig (with ssd), but don't yet have a copy of windows. Questions: 1. Which 64-bit version of Windows 7 should I get (Home premium etc.)? 2. Is this version ok for creating a bootable USB drive? ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Windows-Home-Premium-English/dp/B00H09BB16/ref=sr_1_1?s=software&ie=UTF8&qid=1441572937&sr=1-1&keywords=windows+7 ) 3. If I buy a leggit copy of windows 7, can I upgrade to windows 10 imediately? Cheers, ed
  3. Can u suggest a different cooler at a similar price point?
  4. So, I'm looking to build a new overclocked PC for gaming (fair budget orientated), and I entered all my desired parts into PcPartPicker.com and it says that a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler and Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case are not compatible. Is this correct, because i think they should work just fine. Also, if you wish to comment on the system, I already have a hard drive and sound card and the PSU needs changing. 5. My gaming mouse broke, so ive been stuck with a s**ty spare for a while. I just want a good mouse with solid reveiws.
  6. I likely will build on carpet next to a radiator, and I like wearing socks. I already have an old anti static strap lying around, so should I just put it on my ankle and attach it to the radiator?
  7. Hi, I've never build a pc, but am planning to do so at some point. At the stat of build guides, Linus or slick always comment on his anti-static workstation, but is that all really necessary? MUST i have an anti static mat, or is it OK just to have a wrist strap? I know you attach it to your wrist, but where do you attach the other end? Please help me, I'm confused!
  8. Probably, yes. I would however suggest an upgrade to an R9 270X or R9 280X, cause they is cheap right now. (particularly the 270X) http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r9270xhawk http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r9280xgaming3g
  9. (At least i can salvage the hard drive)(Yes they are compatible)(I've tried)
  10. Cool! That was answered quick! Thanks
