  1. This is my old pc that i reinstalled windows 11 on and added a cheap used AMD card for my mother. Problem 1: no matter what setting in power saving i choose or change the pc still goes to sleep after idling for some time. Problem 2. no matter what setting in power saving or device managers usb properties will allow any usb device wake pc problem3. Pc stays on fine if shes watching netflix or youtube, but if she puts on spotify after 3-5min the tv says no signal. The only hardware changed was the gpu and the ssd. Any ideas and i have zero experience with amd cards or their software, but this is the third pc i have built and never had any issues like this ? pc specs: new install w11 home used amd 580 i7 8700 32gb ram msi z370
  2. Will this be a good match for 12700k and 3090ti ? or Is corsair 1000hx better and if so why ? The evga is cheaper and i can get it sooner but i dont want to get it if its not as good. Thanks Edit : i meant the 1200hx
  3. Should i go with the 12700k then ? I only ask because i am going to build the list on pcpartpicker tonight and order a few pieces now.
  4. Ok thanks everyone the video was jaystoocents where he said the was some sort of bottlenecking cause the i9 + 3909ti on some older games to run slightly slower. I yield lol i will upgrade my Cpu,ram and mobo first and hopefully get it before christmas . Help me GuiltySpark_ understand why in most of the games in the link provided the i5 12600k is beating the i7 12700k. And should i go with the 12600k or 12700k ?
  5. Agree but watching yt vids i saw someone explain that the 3090 ti was so fast in some games he saw a decrease in performance compared to the 3090 or 3080 i cant remember which card he was comparing too on an 10900 i9 overclocked ....so i was wondering if it would be drastically worse with my 8700k and i dont really know how the 0.1% and 1% lows mean in real time performance hence the post.
  6. The only way i am able to buy the 3090 ti is selling the 3080 to my friend ,but in order to buy a new mobo, cpu and ram i will have to wait until the beginning of next year. I just wanted to make sure i wasnt going to regret the performance until next year when i can do a full pc upgrade because i dont really understand the bottleneck stuff. Thanks for the helpful info and it sounds like the 0.1% shouldnt be a deal breaker if i understand you correctly until i can upgrade pc in a few months.
  7. I have a 3080 ftw3 ultra and noticed some games like cyberpunk are low fps @4k so i have a 3090 ti in the mail. I have been watching videos on youtube and have seen that the 0.1% lows (?) are worse on the 3090ti than the 3080's. I'm not sure what any of this means but i think its related to bottlenecking. I have a i7 8700k cpu and 32gb ram. My questions 1.Did i make a mistake and my 3080 will be smother at gaming than the 3090 ti and should i send it back ? 2. will i even notice the 0.1% lows or can they be mitigated via vrr gsync or some other way? P.s. I really want more fps for 4k gaming but not if its going to be a stuttering mess and i need advice please and Thanks
  8. I have always gamed at 4k-1080p @ 60hz and always had vsync on either via game settings or through nvidia control panel and never had screen tear issues. I getting a new tv that might have issues with G-sync so if i turn off vrr wont vsync still stop screen tearing even at 4k@120hz or is there something else to the equation im missing. Does Gsync offer anything other than screen tear elimination? edit: i am getting screen tearing although not bad on the ps5 acv.
  9. I wasn't sure if the flickering was perceivable to the naked eye or just test equipment or if it had been fixed yet. As for the 1440p the sony doesn't support 1440p 120hz only @60hz and its blurry according to rtings.
  10. i have a Sony x95j 75" and a Hisense u8g 65" both on order and would like to cancel one but i dont know which. 80% Gaming 20% Movies/Tv Nvidia 3080 ftw3 ultra Ps5 I am interested in 4k @120hz gaming even if i need to upgrade gpu. i want the 75 inch sony but im scared of the issues reported on Rtings and i dont know what they mean or how bad they are rtings quote "It's also G-SYNC compatible, but there are some issues with it. It's tear-free with 4k @ 120Hz signals from the NVIDIA RTX 3060, but the backlight flickers. It doesn't make the screen completely black, but there's a flicker, which is the same thing that happened with the Sony X90J. 1080p @ 120Hz on the pendulum test demo causes the screen to go black. However, both 4k @ 120Hz and 1080p @ 120Hz work without issue in Destiny 2. Also, 1080p @ 60Hz works fine and 1440p @ 120Hz works without any problem, but the TV is upscaling 1440p to 4k." and then the Hisense u8g has had ghosting and local dimming vrr issues but some videos on youtube say that there fixed now via updates and tcon update. I dont know if this is true . Is the Hisense that much better for gaming that it overrides the sony being 75 inch and gsync issues? I dont get charged until delivery so i would like to cancel one but dont know the right one . What would you do ? Thanks
  11. I just got the 3080 ftw3 ultra 12gb and haven't even installed it yet when i saw for not much more i can upgrade to the 3080ti xc3. I read that the xc3 is hotter running and not as good of quality as ftw3. With that in mind is it still better to step up to the 3080ti xc3 ? Im all about FPS but not at the expense of the card not lasting or is the xc3's still going to last just as long ? p.s. i dont usually overclock anything thanks Edit: It doesnt matter the step up program only gave me two options and they didnt include the xc3 only cards that are double what i paid ;(
  12. If i use afterburner to undervolt my 3080 ftw3 will it maintain the undervolt after i close afterburner and even after pc reboots ? Thanks
