    Except its thermaltake.

Seriously some of the build quality on those is shockingly bad. Also I dislike how much ripping off others stuff they have done of late.

50calsniper got a reaction from RetroSmoo in Gaming on a tv?
Ok so I'm investing in a msi gtx 980ti but I've always liked gaming on a big tv I'm going to either buy a 4k tv or a 4k monitor but I like the size of the TV so my question is what are the down falls of a tv I'm investing in an expensive card and don't want it to go to waste also what are the advantages of gaming on a monitor I have a lot of questions so any info will help thanks

pcie lanes = bandwidth; it's the max amount of data that can be transferred.

each device needs a certain amount of bandwidth to not bottleneck. GPUs need more bandwidth than SSDs so they are rated for a higher amount of pci-e lanes. You can't run a device with more lanes than it's rated and even if you could there would not be any gainz as they device itself determines performance.

all you need to know right now is that GPUs use PCIe 3.0 8X worth of bandwidth, they are rated for 16X tho so there is future capacity to grow into.

    oh and PCIe 3.0 8X = PCIe 2.0 16X.

You can disable that extra screen space until you are playing movies on it, I have a similar setup where I disable the TV unless I'm watching movies or long episodes.
