  1. Don't care what that guy thinks, maybe he had a faulty unit. I've had plenty of G series units in the past, and the P is definitely quieter, and I can't hear mine at all, especially if you have fans on the case that are at least going at 600RPM. If you want dead silence then get a case from Be Quiet. I had a 1000W P2 in a BeQuiet Dark Base Pro 900 with a custom water loop and 8 fans inside, it was very silent and fans were going at around 400-500RPM.
  2. I have an EVGA 850 P2 and it's silent. Incredible quality PSU, will outlast the system by many years. Don't get the Gold variants, they are loud af...
  3. No requirements, basically just has to be a popular android phone that I can showcase with our software. I managed to snag a deal on an S6 Edge refurbished with warranty for £140 so we ll see if this seller turns out to be decent, if that fails I ll look at the Mi A1. Thanks mate
  4. Needs to be UK based, and need it within like 1-2 days, so whatever is on UK Ebay (with 12 month warranty).
  5. New tech is always around the corner, so probably.
  6. I buy them on Ebay, something like £3.50 for Windows 10 Pro. Never had issues, and bought over 20 keys.
  7. Hey guys I need to buy an Android phone for work to use as a demo devices for our Mobile Device Management software. I am looking for a second hand android phone and currently the price range I have is between £140-£160. The best I found so far was Samsung Galaxy S6 in grade A condition. Is there anything better/faster/more reliable for the money or should I go with that? Cheers
  8. it's only for aesthetics, makes no performance difference. To some people it's worth it.
  9. I use 1440p 165hz Gsync monitor and it's awesome. Will upgrade to 4K once it also has 120+hz and Gsync (ideally OLEd too!)
  10. @ShoshinUK I can confirm the above, very good monitors and even side by side the colours are not as far off as you might think. Btw the IPS version does go to 165hz, you just have to do it through it's control panel as it defaults to 144hz out the box.
  11. So I've got an EVGA GT 1030 that I bought for my work PC: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=02G-P4-6333-KR It has a DVI and HDMI port. I have connected it to 2x Dell P2417H monitors (http://www.dell.com/yu/business/p/dell-p2417h-monitor/pd) which have 1 DP, 1 HDMI and 1 VGA port each. The first one is connected via an HDMI cable to it's HDMI cable port and is working fine. For the second one, I am using a display port to DVI adaptor/cable and it is not getting any signal. It recognises the input as it switches to DP mode but it says that there is no signal coming from the GPU. Any help on the matter? Edit: Forgot to mention that everything about is new, bought about a week ago. The 2nd monitor works fine when connected to my macbook via MiniDP to HDMI cable.
  12. Well that's good, in that case you should just stick with it and be happy. I couldn't think of anything less fun than trying to convert a GPU to another model which isn't designed to be... seriously, there are better hobbies
  13. It's fine for me, trust me you notice it when you have 2 displays side by side and switch between them. Both force locked to 60hz just one with Gsync and one without. It won't be day and night though, the advertisement is a bit overhyped imo.
  14. Yeah you can. You sell your 1070 and buy a 1080. That's how you unlock them.
  15. Of course they can be controlled. Not via the GPU, unless you can see the connection of the existing fan and just add a Y cable (so it can accept 2 in 1). Alternatively you can run the y cable + extension to the motherboard and control via PWM on there, or to a manual fan controller if you prefer. They are all PWM fans so plenty of ways to adjust them. My strix card for example has fan headers on the side of it, so I can attach some of my fans on there and they will scale with the GPU temp and be controlled via it's software (GPU Tweak in this case). Edit: Case wise get something with great airflow as your climate sort of needs it. I highly rate the Meshify C! 750d AIrflow edition is good too, its what I have on my other PC, but a bit big and dated these days.
  16. Yes it would be quieter, you can then always ditch the fan it comes with and put 2x fans of higher quality and lower noise ratings (something like be quiet silent wings 3, noctua nf-f12 or even noiseblocker ps series). All you will sacrifice is a tiny bit of overclocking as pascal scales with Temp, so after 50C every 5C drop like 30 mhz or so. But yeah, go for that card and get 2 quiet fans imo, it's the best option in your case.
  17. I can definitely see the advantages of that and would probably go for it myself, however look at the mechanical keyboard market. You can get every single part online of what makes a great high quality keyboard and DIY it yourself, but it will costs you 3x more at least to something like a Corsair K70, which is already proven to be of good quality and reliable. The main reason for that is mass production, you can never beat the cost. But yeah cool idea never the less.
  18. At 45C Ambient in your room, then probably not no. Depends what you deem quiet though and it depends how far away the case is from your mic. Also how well the case deals with sound deadening etc... If you can bag a FTW AIO card, then go with that. It is a custom PCB card made with high quality components and will still have the advantages of water cooling. At that sort of temperature though, even that won't be as quiet as you might expect. Basically it all depends on the factors I mentioned above.
  19. No such thing as best, it's whatever feels good for you. I have the SS QCK+ and I love it. Recently though I replaced it with a large desk mat from Corsair I think it was, and that's great too. The surfaces are totally different though so I had to re-adjust my DPI.
  20. Air cooled is more than fine, you won't get a higher OC with an AIO solution as most of the time temp is not the limiting factor. In my eyes, either go high end Air or Custom loop. (unless budget doesn't allow of course)
  21. Was going to say it's stutter not lag, and it can be many things. I have a gsync monitor and use Gsync with the game, on 1440p I get around 120fps on Ultra settings at most times (sometimes dips lower). Without gsync I get screen tears at random but there is still no stutter. Do any other games stutter for you?
