  1. Not sure why anyone will waste money on this rubbish. If you really want a cheap good tablet, get a second hand iPad. I picked up a gen 4 with retina display for £100 (when retail was £450 at the time). It's much faster, looks great and can do all the bells and whistles most modern smartphones do anyway.
  2. Pure gaming god = 8700K. Make sure you delid and oc the hell out of it, it's a beast!
  3. Hardware Labs are amazing, I ran a full loop with 2 of their rads and some Noiseblocker fans, it was so quiet and so efficient! Also the quality of those rads is second to none imo.
  4. 2700k is ancient these days, get that upgrade goin' bruh!
  5. I doubt the 7700 will allow you to stream and get 144fps smoothly, I'd honestly save for the 8700 if I was you, the price difference should not be that much more (at least it's not here in the UK). And yes benchmarks are different compared to in-game play but I just use them as a baseline.
  6. I'd save for 8700k if you plan to multitask and keep the PC for a while (3-4 years). It will help you be more futureproof, but the 7700k is a good second choice. (wouldn't go for non K 7700 personally). According to the video above, with a 4.7ghz 6700k the guy is able to get average of 90+ sometimes 100 fps on Siege on Ultra/V.High, so should be no issue to get 144 on Low with an even more modern CPU.
  7. Yes I agree, to be honest it comes down to budget. If you want best bang for the buck, AMD is impossible to beat at this stage. But if you want the best hardware for the job period, intel has the solution. I hope this changes soon so both companies can bring out more competitive products at lower price points.
  8. Which resolution ? I have a 1080ti and still can't hit 165hz on 2560x1440 on every single game. (Unless i run low graphics but screw that :D)
  9. Actually the 8700K especially when overclocked comes out on top still. Streaming will be the only thing that will benefit from more cores, but they are still slower cores compared to the intel counterpart. I've done this test back to back before with an R5 1600 @4ghz and my old 6700K @ 4.8ghz, and the i7 was better in every use case bar a few specific programs, in which case it came very close. 8700k is the way to go these days till AMD catches up on IPC.
  10. oh I do, if you have the budget go for that (but also factor in a delid) and you can get 5ghz comfortably and have the best CPU on the market
  11. A 2700X will not do him any good in CPU heavy games, higher per clock and per core performance is what he needs, in which case Intel is king there. OP I'd look for a i7 8700 (non K) for your needs , it will be more than enough for streaming and has great performance.
  12. I am confused as to what you mean by that?
  13. Then you will be ok reinstalling C with new OS.
  14. Using things like DSR to upscale to 4K will provide a slightly better image quality, but not worth the massive performance hit and it won't be real 4K anyway, so in short No.
  15. You should go with Win 10 if you haven't decided already. But yes as above, just move your files over to a backup storage and reinstall C drive.
  16. I use liquid metal in my cereal in the morning, it's great!

Difference between the 1070 Ti and a 1080 is $6…

I would say yes, always get the better GPU if you can afford it. It won't be day and night difference, but it's there. Especially if you have an FPS counter up when you play.
  18. Chrome is the way forward. Not sure why microsoft doesn't make Edge better, perhaps the minority of users that are actually reporting useful feedback and bugs are being ignored since the majority of corporate users don't care? I don't know.
  19. You can get an actual Recaro second hand reclining car seat and mate it to a stand, it will be 100x more comfortable and durable than these "gaming" chairs.
  20. Never go TN if you have the option of purchasing IPS. That said, high end TN panels are not as bad as people make them out to be.
  21. If you have the money go for it, nobody else should be making the choice for you.
  22. Never use monitor speakers... ever.
  23. So you are telling me you can hear your PSU over the rest of your components inside the system? I guess mine is silent as it never hits a high enough load for it to kick in? Maybe. both my 8700k and 1080ti are OC'ed as high as they can go, have plenty of fans and LED strips, so will check my wattage via the UPS tonight and confirm. Either way though I'm not lying, it is genuinely quiet. Another fix for "quiet" PSU is to just buy a higher wattage one, so the fan will essentially never have to kick in
