Microsoft, please, hire this man. He knows how you can make Windows 8 amazing. Honestly, if Windows 8 was like this, I would make the jump without a second thought. I wouldn't even mind some of the notable bugs and whatnot, because at least I'll be happy with the UI I am using. I used Windows 8 back in the beta days. Now, I'm sure a ton has changed since then (actually, I know a lot has changed), but after the final beta build, I switched back to Windows 7 and never gave Windows 8 a second thought. The UI is an absolutely disaster and makes for an unpleasant Windows experience. Why "upgrade" to something that is inferior?
Anyways, again, if Windows 8 ever becomes something like this, I will gladly make the jump, and I'm sure the majority of people will as well.

blknight88 got a reaction from Anuskha in Samsung Galaxy SIII battery problem after jelly bean update
Whenever any of my phones have received an update to a new version of android such gingerbread to ics or ics to jelly bean, etc.
I always wipe the cache partition if I don't plan on doing a factory data reset which is always the best option for a new iteration update.
Note: You will not lose any settings or personal files by doing this.
Here's how to wipe the cache partition on an S3
Turn off the device, press simultaneously the Volume Up, Home and Power keys.
When the device vibrates, let go only the Power key and keep holding the other two.
When the Android recovery appears, let go of all other keys.
Navigate through the menu using the volume keys and use the power key to select a menu.
Highlight the "Wipe Cache Partition" by using the volume key and then select it.
After the process, the "Reboot Phone Now" will become highlighted, press the power key to select it and wait till the device reboots.

No really, I'm serious. McAfee is a terrible anti virus that's on par with Norton on being useless bloatware. I don't think I can in good conscious support this.

why not just use RSA keys? 2048 bit is enough for everything at the moment, but I still use 4096 bit keys.

Based on the information found at pcper.com about this it will mostly likely apply to all AMD Crossfire setups old and new.
So you should see noticeable gains or at least less tearing.

blknight88 got a reaction from Sfobrien52 in Pros and Cons of Updating Motherboard BIOS
You won't lose any of your files on your hard drives. Just your bios settings will be restored to default, so take note of any overclocking settings or other settings you may have.
Pros are any stability/fixes or improvements they have made you will now have.
Check the change log on Asus support page on all of the versions after 0804 to see what the you will get by updating.
As far as cons are considered the worst thing would be if the power went out during the update and it killed the board, but your board has bios flashback which
should still allow you to flash the bios again without the system on which would fix that potential issue.
As far as updating procedure you can just open the Ai suite and go to update and you should be able to update the bios from there.

blknight88 got a reaction from This is not my name in Convert MIDI files to MP3
So I have some MIDI files that I wanted to convert to MP3. Normally I use a program called Freecorder (This program captures any audio played through the speakers)
to convert MIDI files to MP3 but with a few of my files have spots of silence in them and it keeps creating a bunch of individual files for each file every time there is even a microsecond of silence. I've tried to edit them together but it never sounds right since I don't know the amount of silence it doesn't record.
So basically what I want help with is, if anyone knows a good way to convert MIDI files to MP3?

blknight88 got a reaction from Torey in Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Help
In the android ecosystem when you take a picture it will always go into a DCIM folder.
The pictures folder is created automatically ever since ice cream sandwich 4.0.
This folder is just a place to store your pictures like my pictures on windows operating systems, you don't have to use that folder though.
