  1. Good Morning, Rather ironic that last night i dusted off 1602 for the first time in at least a decade, and then this morning am greeted with the news it is getting an HD update. Technically it was announced a month ago, but this is the first i am hearing off it and i do not see it mentioned on here so i am sharing it for any anno fans. The update brings compatibility fixes for modern OS and hardware, support for resolutions up to 4k, updated scaling options, options to use more modern control schemes(like being able to use both mouse buttons!), as well as making multiplayer possible again. This list inclusive of all the changes, but it does resolve a lot of issues people have with dusting off their old game. The best part, IMO, is that it isn't just 1602 that is getting some love. The first four games in the Anno series are all getting the make over. Here is a link to the article for my source info. https://www.anno-union.com/en/devblog-anno-1602-history-edition-2/
  2. current solar panel technology doesn't generate enough electricity per square foot/meter to offset the added weight to the air craft. So even trying to create a hybrid system isn't feasible at the moment. Given how much airline companies spend in fuel cost alone they would jump at such a plane if the technology existed to make it a real thing. barring some unlikely jump in solar technology the only way an all electric plane could work is if we switched to a non-fossil fuel like hydrogen; which would emit water vapor as it's only by product. Unfortunately hydrogen fuel cell technology isn't quite "there yet".
  3. Those catapult systems really work for small fighter craft. Also those catapult systems only provide a boost to get the plane into the air in lieu of a longer run way. The jet is still throttled very high and is otherwise burning a similar amount of fuel to a traditional take off. Also wind turbines on a jet wouldn't work because that would be kind of like a perpetual motion machine, which isn't physically possible. To reduce fuel consumption the more feasible methods are better aerodynamics and lighter materials.
  4. To answer the OP's question yes a lawyer can help teenagers with employment disputes, but as mentioned by almost everyone; it would not be worth the effort. Even if you did get your job back would you even want to work there anyway? There are only 2 real differences between a right to work state and non-right to work state. 1. employers cannot force you to join a union, or require you be a member of one to get/maintain a job. (though you may still have to pay union dues) 2. employers do not have to provide you with a reason for termination. that last one doesn't make them immune from lawsuits however. If you can show the termination was on unfair grounds, or that you were unfairly discriminated against; or that it was a hostile work environment; you can have a case against them. Wow that's actually not the case with most unions. Typically the union will do their damnedest to pass the buck somewhere else or just drop the ball, but as your example indicates not all unions are cut from the same cloth. I am speaking from experience as i work with unions/union members as part of my job. though i am not a member of any union.
  5. I've been on the fence for a while about this whole thing, but after watching this video, along with a few others i went out and bought a Dy.....i mean a Xiaomi mi robot vacuum for a whole lot less than a Dyson. It's only been one day but thus far i am rather impressed.
  6. Which model of 360 are you referring to? My advice is to check out ifixit as their tear downs usually include exactly which bit is needed for which screws. https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown?page=7&sort=recent&filter=all
  7. there was a supreme court case back in the 60s? which they ruled that the KKK had the right to march as it was protected by the 1st amendment. i cant remember the name of it, but you can use the opinions, both the majority and dissenting, as part of your paper. if you find the name of that case you can also look on wikipedia and then check the "references" section at the bottom and see if there are any scholarly sources used for you to peruse.
  8. i'm rather partial to my new one, but then again i am pretty biased.
  9. Patrick Stewart as Professor-x Most of the harry potter castings. Rickman was perfect, but overall they did a very good job matching actors with their role. Heath Ledger as the joker- Seriously that movie would of been bland as hell without him. Dwayne, "The rock", Johnson in the run down- He made that movie fun to watch and was when i started taking his acting seriously. Jack Black in kung fu panda- I am not a fan of his at all, but was perfect for that role. Christopher Lee- Dracula, Count Duku (sp?), Sarumon (sp?) or pretty much anything else he's done. Idriss Elba in Pacific Rim,and as Heimdall.
  10. this sucks, cause i rather liked netlink for a quick catch up on some topics i haven't yet heard about.
  11. The answer kind of depends on what exactly you, or your family, intends to do career wise and what not. The USA would be easier for you to move to because you are technically a US citizen already so there isn't any immigration issues you have to worry about. In contrast you'd have to apply for a visa to immigrate to Canada, and unfortunately for you Canada doesn't admit many immigrants a year. So tell us a bit more about you and your family and maybe we can provide a more appropriate answer.
  12. Yea we get that too here in VA. a lot of the people begging on the street corner or intersections say they are a homeless vet, and while some of them might be i know they all can't be. Especially since our state has committed to finding homes for every single homeless veteran, and statistically speaking we've actually done that.
  13. To the OP, i dunno what things are like in the UK but i am fairly certain that you are very limited in terms of what you can and cannot arm yourself with. Is pepper spray still legal over there? Because that's about as much as you probably can get away with. As far as the jacket. If you like it then wear it, and if people don't like you wearing it then either ignore them or take it off. If someone asks why you are wearing it just tell them the truth. "i like it and its warm" If it was free then add that in as well. Most folks understand that logic and usually won't have an issue. Here in the south camo is a regular every day occurrence, for military and civilian alike, Stolen valor is an issue but not so much that anything camo is equated to being in the military.
  14. Ive been through heaps of Tropicals, and catagory 1s&2s, maybe even a 3. Never a 4 or a 5. That being said my advice to you is to check the forecast at least twice a day, and pay attention to mandatory evacuation orders. Make sure your gas tank is full, and you have a primary and secondary route to leave the area planned out. Pre-pack anything you know you must not lose, and have them ready to go. I'm technically in the path too (VA), but we still have a few days to prepare. I hope you are far enough away that you actually have time to prepare. Sadly it is a bit late for this piece of advice. For this sort of stuff there is typically a delay between when you buy the insurance and when it goes into effect. Especially flood insurance. I went through Matthew directly, and while it was a rather dull storm as Hurricanes go. Not having power for almost a week afterwards really sucked.
  15. The video actually addresses both of those. By partial dyson they are referring to orbital solar panels around the sun that collect and transmit back to the earth. One possible solution to doing this would be to use automated fabricators that harvest minerals and construct the panels as well constructing other automated fabricators. Depending on how many panels we put around the sun the planet Mercury may need to be completely cannibalized, and maybe even Venus too. The automated fabricators idea has been floated for a number of different solutions as it would resolve the problem of getting stuff into space.
