  1. Would a 6 to 8 pin adapter be fine with this power supply and the 6970? System specs again 2 Xeon x5355 20gb of fb ddr2 2 7200rpm drives @mariushm That suggestion is a bit out of my realm, but thanks anyway.
  2. It's not going in a everyday system.
  3. I have a dell precision 690 with the 1000w psu, and it only has dual six pins and I want to hook up a 6970 to it,so I'm wondering if there is a 8 pin eps to 8 pin pci adapter (the eps is used for a gpu riser). I could use molex but the molex comes out of a block connector with three strands, two with two sata connectors each, and one with 3 molex and a floppy connector, that kinda sketches me out to use an adapter on. Circled in blue is the block connector and circled in red is the 8 pin eps. This psu is not going in a normal computer, I want to add a gpu to the dell. Specs 2 x5355 20gb fb ddr2 2 7200 rpm drives Also the psu sticker
  4. With flawless widescreen crossfire works. I don't know about the other program, but I don't see why it wouldn't.
  5. @Lord Nicoll With crossfire only the main card outputs a display.
  6. I've been listing to metal and similar genres increasingly again over the past few years since there has been very few good electronic songs since 2013, so I had to go back to the good old stuff. I mainly listen to older stuff as I don't really find much new stuff I like as much. Types of metal I like? Thrash, Heavy, Alt, Speed, Nu, Metalcore, and as long as it good I'll listen. I also like Grunge. Some of the metal bands I like: Metallica, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Korn, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Black Label Society, Slayer, Slipknot, FFDP, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Stone Sour, Trivium Killswitch Engage, and more. Those were just the once I thought of first.
  7. Go to page 72 https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_g700g710_hmm.pdf , all I have to do is unscrew a few screws and its out, I took the laptop apart earlier, that's how I figured out I could.
  8. I got the laptop for free, and it is cheaper to upgrade than buy a new one.
  9. I got a Lenovo g700 with a Pentium 2020m and I can upgrade the cpu. The cpu's I'm considering are the i5 3230m, i7 3520m, and the i7 3632qm. How big is the difference between the 3 in gaming, I will also be doing other things besides gaming. I know the 3632 is a quad and the other two are dual cores, and they are all running HD 4000 graphics. Thanks
  10. @Aphexxis On an Amd chip you have to do this http://steamcommunity.com/app/17300/discussions/0/864945401070748061/ to even get the game to start up, if you were wondering.
  11. (I'm not sure if this should go into CPU's, Motherboards, and Memory or Graphics Cards) I was curious how big the gap between these two CPU's is when oc'd and with a mid range oc'd video card. Systems Specs 8350 - 4.6Ghz NH-D14 990fxa-ud3h 8GB Hyperx 2400@2133 (I will put a CPU-Z shot of the 8350 when I hook that pc back up) 4790k - 4.7Ghz Hyper 212 Evo Z87 X-Power 8GB Hyperx 2400@2133 On a cardboard box. Video Card - Diamond Multi Media r9 290 with an Arctic Accelero Xtreme 3 @1155 Core and 1400 Mem Update - I added Fire strike. (I was on driver version 17.2.1 with the 8350, then just updates to 17.3.3 because I'm putting my PC back together, I don't know why it's not approved) Games Tested Crysis 1 Crysis 2 Battlefield 4 Single player Bioshock Infinite Hitman Mirrors Edge Catalyst and Portal 2 Testing - I ran each benchmark 3 times (FPS recorded with Fraps) then then got the average from that. I ran games at 1080,1440 and 2560x1080 Settings Used Results are Average then Minimum. Crysis 1 For this benchmark I used Smurfynet's tool from the Steam Forums 1080p - 8350 - 51.2 - 4790k - 87.8 1440p - 8350 - 47.67 - 4790k - 80.94 2560x1080 - 8350 - 44.6 - 4790k - 77.7 Crysis 2 For this bench I ran mission 44 Semper fi or die, I walked to the truck, drove it to the check point then stopped. (I ran this test with both cpu's again and the results were similar each time) 1080p - 8350 - 96.8/74.3 - 4790k - 97.1/74.6 1440p - 8350 - 57.9/44.6 - 4790k - 59.5/46.6 2560x1080 - 8350 - 72.9/55.6 - 4790k -74.9/58 Battlefield 4 - I ran the mission Tashgar (the intro) 1080p - 8350 - 89.2/42.3 - 4790k - 93.3/69.6 1440p - 8350 -61.8/47.3 - 4790k - 63.1/48 2560x1080 - 8350 - 72.9/58 - 4790k - 74.9/58 Bioshock Infinite - I ran the built in benchmark. 1080p - 8350 -107.4/27.1 - 4790k - 119.6/31.2 1440p - 8350 - 69.9/19.4 - 4790k - 75.8/26.6 2560x1080 - 8350 - 82.4/24.5 - 4790k - 96.5/28.9 Hitman - I ran the built in benchmark in DX12 only. 1080p - 8350 - 82.3/.96 - 4790k - 82.1/1.6 1440p - 8350 - 47.8/.92 - 4790k - 52.3/1.6 2560x1080 - 8350 - 51.5/.76 - 4790k - 72.8/1.3 Mirrors Edge Catalyst - I used the GamersNexus benchmark run for this test (I ran this test with both cpu's again and the results were similar each time ) 1080p - 8350 - 76.5/57.3 - 4790k - 77.6/66 1440p - 8350 - 56.5/48.3 - 4790k - 52.4/45.6 (I ran this multiple times and the results are consistent) 2560x1080 - 8350 - 64.3/57.3 - 4790k - 64.7/55 (Same with this one) Portal 2 - I did the same level each time (Don't know the name but I will find out), Wheatley combines two test chambers if that helps. 1080p - 8350 - 289.5/279.7 - 4790k - 295.6/293 1440p - 8350 - 220.1/137.3 - 4790k - 278.8/250.3 2560x1080 - 8350 - 275.2/202 - 4790k - 295.6/291 There are my results, that's about it. If you have any question feel free to ask.
  12. Nope, the card is nearly 8 years old, I was suprised it got a Crimson driver.
  13. No, but it does have a Crimson driver and a Catalyst Control Center driver, that both work fine in my experience.
