  1. I too wanted a razer Blade, but don't do it. They are too small/thin to adequately dissipate the heat they generate so under any kind of gaming load they will thermal throttle, the MSI GS63vr is cheaper and cools it's 1060 slightly better, but you can get a gt62vr, which is 6.4 lbs. with a 1070 and/or a 4k screen for cheaper or the same price as a Blade. I've personally progressed through that lineup myself. There is a video of a blade playing overwatch where the cpu is at 95 Celsius the whole time. that kinda killed it for me with getting a Blade to game on.
  2. ^^ Haha, I loved the fight for msi's cooling improvements the whole time, but at the end it's like "fuck it" go with a clevo.
  3. ugh, The sad part is I'm already used to that on my aging M6-1035DX. I just really need the number pad for quickbooks and putting sales estimates together.
  4. @Pendragon Nice, I'll check it out. Hopefully the 63 stays cool as well
  5. MSI GS series has a similiar take on the slim form factor design. I was personally steered away from anything Razer branded by a few people here. And EVGA only has 1 laptop I believe? There are alot of cheaper options than the Razer, so you'll have to look around. Clevo type custom builds might be an option if the slim form factor isn't a must have for you. I'm still feeling my way around the options myself after being dead set on a razer only to hear all the hate they induce around these parts, lol
  6. I'd rather take the thunderbolt 3 and 1060 than a 1070 and no thunderbolt. I seriously need someone to talk me out of buying this one: https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GS63VR-Stealth-Pro-4K-6th-Gen-GTX-1060.html#hero-specification It's in my Amazon shopping cart and ready to go. I need the hard truth on the bad things about this laptop other than it's shitty power button location lol
  7. So, I'm pretty stuck on the MSI GS63VR 4K, but I was wondering if you guys think that it can run an lg ultrawide 1440P monitor for productivity work, and to a lesser extent some games for the lolz. Any ideas?
  8. Yes, definitely. Anything is better than a damn 7.5 ring gear. If you want to do a little custom work, grab and 8.8 out of a mustang or whatever and put that in. It is a very stout rear and every junkyard has a few
  9. I saw that, I was really hoping something got overlooked too, because i also seem to be having an issue finding a 4k screen with a 1070 as well. You can get a 4k w/ a 1060, but not with a 1070. weird....
  10. Haha, you're right. I just went through my history it was don_svetlio who recommended it, ironically enough. Credit where credit is due, thank you sir. i need the thinness for carrying around at trade shows and such for work. Otherwise I agree with the Clevo option
  11. Actually, it's a pretty nice setup. The record for fastest Canyon/Colorado in the 1/4 is something along the lines of ~12.4 and my coworker got to 13.02 @ 107mph last weekend with full weight (and a bed cap nonetheless!). So once he does some suspension to keep the tires planted, he should be doing pretty good. Now, I will admit this, he has commented that the front end get a little, ahem, "loose" above 130, and hopefully we can get that straightened out by LS Fest.
  12. To keep me warm on those long, cold, lonely nights? lol. Honestly, I didn't know they were such hotboxes, I'm probably going to go with Pendragon's suggestion and get a new GS6x with the 1070 instead. The Razer lineup is way back in my rear view at this point.
  13. I'm still building it. the engine just got put in 2 weekends ago. I'm waiting for my T56 magnum to come in and then I'll get a MWC fab9. I don't know what you're running in your v6, but you'd probably be fine with finding a 10 bolt with the bigger ring gear. My coworker is running a canyon with a stroked 5.3L at ~500whp on a 10 bolt.
