  1. Switched the mobo and booted fine. POS... Thank you for your help!
  2. As putting stick no1 in dimm1, then stick no2 in dimm1? No, but I also tried putting 2 sticks RAM in from another rig that worked fine, and still achieved the same result.
  3. Hello, Helped my buddy assemble his first rig, very exciting, but also very disappointing when the PC would only boot with 1 stick of RAM. Here are the steps I took in determining that it's probably a MOBO issue. 1. Removed graphics card w/ both sticks still installed - all lights and fans on, but still no post 2. Removed RAM from DIMM 2, posted, booted into BIOS, then proceeded installing windows etc. 3. Updated BIOS for MOBO then added second stick back - no boot 4. Installed graphics card back with only 1 stick of RAM - booted fine. 5. Installed 2nd DIMM again w/ gfx card - no boot (should be noted that graphics card fans spun briefly then stopped, but never started back up again). 6. Pulled the 2 sticks from my other rig, and installed, and got the same results with both 1 and 2 sticks installed. To get the basic questions out of the way, I did use the gpu outputs when it was installed, and used the MOBO outlets when not installed. I also switched between VGA and DVI. I used Crimson utility to update drivers for graphics the gpu also. The sticks of RAM were firmly seated when installed, and both clips snapped firmly into position. Additionally, all fans connected to the PSU and MOBO, including the CPU fan, spun up and maintained speed after power-on even when there was no post. I could find no options outside of the "overclocking" menu on this MOBO to change memory speed. This is a relatively cheap-o build, so fair warning before looking at the hardware. He is using it right now for low-demand games like WoW and Smite, but may run into problems on some more demanding titles with only 4 gigs of RAM. Let me know if you have any questions, and all help from the community would be greatly appreciated. I do have another MOBO on-hand, but I'd rather not open it unless I've exhausted all troubleshooting options for this one. 4. Good news: Your card is working as designed! Now go and overclock the balls off it!!!
  5. That would be a no-go. I've already talked to an IT guy, and they don't want to intermingle hardware.
  6. I know for a fact that for gaming performance on the K1200 doesn't hold a candle to the GTX 970.
  7. Howdy guys. Many of the computers that the detailers and estimators use at my work use gtx 970 cards, not Quadro cards. The IT guy claims Quadro cards are a waste of money. Since my company refuses to provide me with a workstation-class PC and wants me to do tasks that require photoshop, illustrator, premier, after effects, etc; I have an excuse to build my own rig. Research time. The GTX 970 and the Quadro K1200 are at the same price point of about $300, which is about what I'm looking to spend on a graphics card for this work station. Would the k1200 be the better choice of the two at the price point for the tasks outlined above (absolutely NO gaming), or should I just get a gtx 970? Your input is appreciated. Feel free to answer in the form of links and/or articles.
  8. Don't listen to the nay-sayer. This is a great deal for your needs!!!
  9. Lol that's why I posted on here - was hoping someone would have seen something that was on a super deal.
  10. I saw that one, but was hoping to get one with an ssd, even if it had a weaker cpu. I think this might be the one though.
  11. I am shopping for a laptop for my grandmother, who will only be using basic ms office software, and also use the machine for quicken and ancestry/research type stuff. The budget is $400. I'd like to get her something that has at least an i3, and an ssd (doesn't need to be huge) or a hybrid HD. A Chromebook is out of the question.
  12. This TV is made of Chinesium, not Texonite. Seriously these TVs are good, but not for gaming. The input lag is real.
  13. I don't and haven't owned any of these phones, but I would say the G4 or Note 5. All the highest specs and numbers and gigahertz really don't matter at the end of the day. I'm excited to see the Nexus 5 this year though. Looks like it will be really similar to the G4 in many ways, but running stock android.
  14. Right - that's a moto though... I like the nexus 6 but it's HUGE. I'd like to see if the new one is a little less cumbersome.
