    I feel nvidia thinks that a native 4gb gtx 960 ti might eat into the gtx 970s market it having 3.5 GB of vram and all....

    Then simply get a pentium g3258 and a cheap h81 mobo for fun and your current rig for gaming [emoji14]

    No oc obviously not possible but in terms of raw processing power the hyperthreading on the i7 (and Xeon) would help it best the i5 3570k in all tasks except probably single thread optimised games( that too if the i5 is heavily over clocked)

    Just buy a i7 4770 k used It would probably fetch you much better performance than any oced i5 3570k ever could Even the Xeon e3-1231 isn't a bad idea either

    In my opinion it would a waste The i5-4460 is not known to bottleneck any single GPU configuration Might make sense if you have a dual GPU set up BTW which motherboard do you have right now? Why not buy an i5 4690 k or i7 4790k and hopefully save some money?
