That very well could be it, luckily I think I’m all caught up on those payments. Seems a bit like overkill to block all FIOS users in my area but you never know with colleges these days. Guess I’ll talk to the IT guys there tomorrow.

So, using a VPN worked. Thanks! But now my question is, what does this mean? Could it be an ISP issue? Still can’t connect to the websites without one.

I’m using my regular home network, it’s their website I can’t access. Works fine over LTE, just not over my wifi/lan connections. It’s a community college, no one lives on campus hahaha

I’ll give a VPN a try in that case. The thing is I’m commuting rather than dorming, so I doubt they are locking me out, I hope.

Do there exist any decent free VPN services I could use to test this? I know, I should have one already lol.

I would think my school would contact me if I was being locked out, I hope that isn’t the case.

As per suggestion in a video tutorial I believe I tried Google’s server. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 I think? I cannot ping the website, can’t find host.

Hi! I'm attempting to access my college's website in order to work on assignments. Over my home network, I can access websites as normal (for example: linustechtips.com), but cannot access any website associated with my school. I know it isn't an issue on the school's end, as I can access their websites on my phone over data, but not over WIFI.

Two of the websites in question are: " ccm.edu " and " courses.ccm.edu ", and when attempting to reach them Chrome gives me the error: " ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED "

I've already tried flushing the dns cache through CMD.

    I'm running Windows 10 64-bit

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Could have shorted, but all appears to be functioning well now. Probably gonna swap the motherboard/cpu/etc and the psu soon anyway.

Well now that’s really strange, working just fine now, and I was gonna let it sit until the morning haha. I guess I had to go through a very roundabout power cycle for it to function normally.

Still, that’s a weird issue I don’t have a solid explanation for, good indication it’s time to upgrade soon I guess.

    Thanks!

Yeah, you’re right, Windows is stored on an SSD anyway. I forced it off with the PSU switch, and switching it back on thankfully didn’t start it up again. I’ll try to get my hands on some spare parts in the next few weeks to do some testing. I’m gonna assume it’s either motherboard or PSU related because it doesn’t seem to be POSTING at all.

    Very strange.

As soon as I figure out how I can get this thing shut off without immediately powering itself back on I’ll begin the process of narrowing down the problem component.

True, lots of sales coming up.

That’s the other thing, I would go about starting that process, but I can’t even force shut down with the power button without it restarting immediately. I suppose I could just switch off the psu while it’s running, as all my important files aren’t on hard drives, but it seems risky.

Lol, the AI is coming for us. Do you think it’s a case of chalking it up to the old FX mobo/chip failing and moving onto ryzen or an intel equivalent?

I would do that but I’m unable to even access the BIOS, as nothing displays whatsoever. System was working normally about an hour ago, not likely that both display cords failed or came loose.

I’ve run into an issue I can’t wrap my head around. My PC woke itself up in the middle of the night, and powered itself on. All lights/fans seem to be running and I assume the system is as well. However, neither monitor is receiving any signal from the card.
This is the weirder part, the system won’t allow itself to be shut down. I cannot get into windows to do it through the OS, but even a force shutdown immediately reboots the system, leaving no window to quickly shut off the PSU.

    I’m running Windows 10 64-bit with an FX-6300, 8GB DDR3, and a 980ti on an Asus M5A97. I’m powering it with with an EVGA 750w.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I managed to pick up this custom Digital Storm PC-05S X in exotic blue brushed aluminum for a decent price. The case itself is no longer sold.

    Planned Specifications:
Broadwell-E CPU + custom blue tracer waterblock
Blue LED 16GB DDR4 (Unsure which model exactly yet)
    GTX 1080 + waterblock
Unknown ITX X99 motherboard (ASRock maybe?)
    Corsair SF600
    Samsung 950 256GB (If compatible)
    2TB SSHD

Obviously some nice custom glass tubing. I also plan on adding that 120mm radiator on the outside with glass tubing connecting to it. I can't live with a single 240mm radiator!

OK here are a few pictures.

Your drives are supposed to be mounted on that vertical piece in front of the GPU, that is an old and obsolete design however.

Nope, not unless you want to ghetto rig it with double sided tape and risk damaging your HDD, the only other option would be to replace the case.

Yeah, that thing can probably max out most games at 1080p. I think in the future you should upgrade to 16GBs of RAM though and get an SSD.
