Hey guys, nothing too special about me. i enjoy long walks through electronic stores... LED lighting... and puppies. lol, but seriously. I enjoy working on computers as much as the next guy (or girl) I'm no technical wizard, just a simple builder with the utmost respect for all things tech. and if you've read that my interest also includes guns and you hate them. i say this, that's your choice, don't hate just cause you cant shoot straight!

  1. thanks for the help everyone! really appreciate it.
  2. hey guys. quick question for all you overclockers. im currently trying to oc my 3570k. i had stability at 4.1 with voltages around 1.12-1.13 temps were around 46 degrees idle and about 65-70 under load. (85 during prime95) well i noticed that for some reason in realtemp its showing my core speed at 4103.87.... now im somewhat new at oc. but that just doesn't seem right.... am i doing something wrong? help is much appreciated. My Rig: corsair 900d 3570k corsair H100i asus p8 z77-v le plus 24 gb crucial ballistix asus gtx 660ti Direct cu ii oc thermaltake TR2 600w
  3. nvm. i got it. stupid speed step.....sorry guys. what a noob move. :(
  4. alright you guys. here's my dilemma. just bought an asus p8 z77-v le plus mobo to replace my msi one. now when i first got it going i had my cpu ratio at 40. thought i turned off turbo boost. but apparently when i turn up my ratio turbo boost auto enables itself! how do i stop it from doing that?? oh. btw. cpu is a 3570k.
  5. Awesome! But yeah it crashed like 2 hours in. And that's the highest I can set the voltages. I'm ordering a new motherboard on newegg right now. Haha. Thanks for all the help everyone!!!
  6. wait a second..... are those voltages right?? if you cant see it in the thumbnail its like 1.192....?? seems pretty low to me.....
  7. yeah here's the current burn in. and i upped the multiplier so now im at 4.5 ghz. i did just start prime 95 like 10 minutes ago. so ill have to update again in like 4 hours or so. but hopefully its right??
  8. Ooooo ok then. Did not know that one. Thanks for the tip!!! Running it now. And looks to be like you said. Although the temps seem to be kinda weird still. Maybe 5 degrees hotter on 2 of the cores. Or is that normal?
  9. well right now im using a msi z77 ma- g45. low budget board but it was what i could afford at the time. i do have a friend that runs an asus motherboard and an older one at that. z68 chipset. so i might go that route here pretty soon. well different chipset....obviously... haha. any recommendations?
  10. yeah problem is i cant actually change it from auto for some reason. might just be i have a low end mobo.
  11. hows it going guys. quick question on my temperatures. not quite sure if these are ok? right now i have an h100i on my cpu. and here are the temperatures im getting oh and also i am running prime95 in the background. so its under full load.
  12. hmm.. well i was thinking asus because ive heard a few good things about them. but i do enjoy my msi. mostly the bios. but idk.
  13. 2000rpm does seem a bit excessive for a personal system.....but id buy em!!! haha.
