  1. Hey guys,

For the past 2 weeks my Dell Inspiron 15z 5523 wireless card is not working properly. I don't know why but it looks like the wifi strength dropped significantly, it only detects Wifi networks in a 5 meter range (16 foot) or less.

    I already tried:

    1. Uninstalling drivers and installing the most current driver

    2. Uninstalling drivers and installing like 10 differents versions of drivers.

    2. Changing wireless power mode to maximum performance.

    3. Changingtransmit power to highest.

    4. Unchecking allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

    5. Opening laptop, cleaning wireless card, make sure the wireless card is properly installed.

I know is not the router because every other device in the house or in my workplace works right away.

    What else can I do?

  2. It won't.

Google shielded itself from a lot of this, but even they have to pay some royalties. Its the OEMs that really got boned with the patents, and MS knows they have them by the balls forever.

Sure, patents can be bad, and stocking up a war chest full of them can be counter productive to competition, but it doesn't stop it from being hilarious when one companies war chest collectively craps on several others at once AND earns a lot of money for it.

I know but patents should expire and be free after XX amount of years.. Some patents are like essential for somethings to work..

So we knew Microsoft's Android-patent-licensing business was big. But it's even bigger than many had estimated.

Thanks to a filing unsealed on October 3 in the Microsoft vs. Samsung U.S. District Court patent-royalty case filed in early August 2014, we now know that Samsung paid Microsoft $1 billion in 2013 for a single year's worth of patent-licensing royalties.

Samsung agreed in 2011 to pay Microsoft a then-undisclosed amount for licensing patents upon which Android allegedly infringed. That agreement was structured as a cross-licensing agreement.

According to the unsealed filing, Microsoft is contending that "(U)nder the License Agreement, Samsung agreed to make patent royalty payment to Microsoft for a period of seven fiscal years, in exchange for the right to use patented Microsoft technology in Samsung smartphones and tablets that use the Android operating system."

The filing says that Samsung failed to make its year-two royalty payment on time and to pay interest for not doing so. Samsung, for its part, claimed it shouldn't have to make good on the contract because Microsoft bought Nokia's devices and services business.

Microsoft said Samsung owed interest in excess of $6.9 million for its late Android-patent fee, which it still hadn't paid as of the date of the filing. That amount is calculated on the $1 billion that Samsung owed Microsoft in Android patent licensing royalties as of August 29, 2013, according to the unsealed documents.

Microsoft announced publicly its plans to acquire Nokia's devices and services business on September 3, 2013. Samsung is claiming that the Nokia acquisition would breach the patent license agreement. But, according to the unsealed court documents, Samsung did pay Microsoft its agreed-upon $1 billion patent royalty amount on November 29, 2013.

Microsoft its making more from Android than Windows Phone OS...

  4. What are the minimum requirements for Windows 10? I want to install it on a 5 year old laptop.

    NEVERMIND I found it

    System requirements

Basically, if your PC can run Windows 8.1, you’re good to go. If you're not sure, don't worry—Windows will check your system to make sure it can install the preview.

    RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)

"When it launches, any Xbox One gamer can join EA Access and take advantage of the benefits of membership. In order to connect to multiplayer gameplay on the Xbox One platform you will need a subscription to Xbox Gold," EA explained.

While we don't know exactly when the service will launch, EA has assured us it'll be "soon".

I didn't expect that from Microsoft and EA

  7. Hey hey everyone,

I've been trawling this Forum for months now, and I've only just started to post my own content, but I felt as I should give something back into the community for all the help I've received from such great people.

So! As the title says I'm giving away an entire Humble Bundle by Enix. I did want to spread the games out to give to a wider range of people, but since they stopped giving away the single keys I'm not able to. So one person takes it all :P

Here's the link to the HumbleBundle website itself for you to check out what's up for grabs. The bundle the winner gets will include every game, as well as the Extra Games, when they announce them.

Okay, now for the part you actually want to know.... How to win!

There's no catch, no liking facebook pages (or whatever is "hip" these days). All you need to do is post, it could be anything you want. You can even post as many comments as you like, though I wont accept any spamming... So just start a conversation with someone :P

    Rules:

Must have a Steam account (Duh)

That's it! It's really that simple.

The chance to win will be from now till 20:00 (8pm) UK time. At which point I'll use a random number generator to pick a page and post number. I'll then PM the winner a message.

If the winner doesn't claim within 24 hours, I'll re-run the Give-Away another day.

I hope this explains it all but if you have any questions I'll be happy to answer.

Well that's it, get posting and good luck :)

    -Steven

    P.S, Grapes :D

Do you watch Football(Soccer for the US), if so what  team do you support?

    Dragonfruit

    Thank you for doing this

  8. I think everyone is overreacting a bit...

Google learned their lesson with G+ integration into YouTube and got major hate for it. They're backing off on G+, and name enforcement and such because they know it is not popular. They need traffic to keep their sites up and money flowing in.

However... I am worried about copyright issues.

Backing off how? We are still stuck with G+
