DrMacintosh got a reaction from Valentyn in macOS Mojave 10.14.4 enables automatic Dark Mode on websites with black themes
Mac users were given a Dark Mode in macOS Mojave which Apple showed off at WWDC 2018
This feature was previously limited to system applications. Now however, Apple has expanded Dark Modes reach to include websites in macOS Mojave 10.14.4 Beta
This feature can be enabled by going to the "Develop > Experimental Features > Dark Mode CSS Support
This feature does depend entirely on the developers of websites to enable Dark Mode CSS support to their sites.
The Safari Technology Preview is also another way to test this feature, rather than installing a beta OS.

DrMacintosh reacted to nicebyte in Taking Intro to Java
How limited are we talking? In my opinion, there's a big difference between "no experience whatsoever" and something like "wrote some lua script for WoW one time", for example. It's always intimidating to start from zero.
That being said, the course looks like it aims to get students over the basic hurdles of getting a dev environment set up and writing and running simple programs. Most of these things will be straightforward and won't require a lot of thinking; the course will just slowly ease you into the programmer mindset. Of course, a lot depends on the instructor as well, but I think you'll be fine even if you've never programmed before.

DrMacintosh got a reaction from Slottr in Want to create iOS apps, but have a windows laptop
Either buy a Mac of some description or run macOS in a VM or turn your existing laptop into a Hackintosh. The XPS 13 should be serviceable as a Hackintosh

However because macOS does not work with Nvidia GPUs, you're going to be stuck on the iGPU and a lot of basic features are going to be broken.

If you're going to comment about the XR, at least know the specs of the phone.
1792x828 is a lot more than 1334x750.....

DrMacintosh got a reaction from Billy Pilgrim in Can LTT survive on Linux for a week?
Also this is why people get turned off by looking into Linux. Anytime someone asks what is good about Linux they get a sermon, when all people want is just a list of benefits that they get by using it compared to macOS or Windows. aka "What's in it for me?"

DrMacintosh got a reaction from ne0tic in Apple Contractor; CSAT Solutions, Poor Working Conditions and Repair Standards
It’s very likely that they don’t know. Last time these cries or poor working conditions came about Apple released a public statement, investigated, and then dropped the offending contractor as a partner.
Apple isnt lying about what they belive im, CSAT is covering themselves up.

If you want to stretch it that far, then macOS is also technically Linux.

That's called a bottleneck. Your GPU is weaker than your CPU. If you actually tell us what your specs are, people responding might be able to give more information.

That mostly looks like Foxconn and such workers. Which I don't really believe. The only thing I would is that they are made from recycled aluminum

See, here's the thing:
A business is only in business to make money.
Lots and lots of money apparently.
If a business can get away with something, and by "get away" I mean past whatever gov't is in charge, then they will. The court of public opinion holds no sway when money is at stake.
And given the current administration of the USA is run by an ex-businessman, who sees nothing wrong with "money above all else" then corporations will see this as a free pass to do whatever it takes to make as much money as possible.
So treating their employees good, bad, or indifferent, makes no difference to them, so long as it doesn't impact their bottom line. This goes especially double in tech, where virtual monopolies tend to be common.

Yep. Rumor has it that Navi will use traditional memory thankfully. Meaning it will actually make money.
