I assume this is what you want? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/office-365-security/email-authentication-arc-configure?view=o365-worldwide

This should allow you to accept incoming messages, even when their signature is messed up. Of course, the proper solution would be for the sender to fix their domain's DNS entries for DMARC.

If you're mixing and matching drives. SHR is the only way. SHR2 allows for 2 drives to fail and offers the same storage as RAID 10 in a 4 bay NAS. In a 6 bay NAS, SHR2 gives you another drive of capacity, but you can still only loose 2 drives.

Supporting the ability for x86 computers to run Android apps requires there to be a demand for that, and there simply is no demand. This type of thing also requires active support rather than just being a byproduct of your PC running the same architecture as your phone (like Apple Silicon and the iPhone).

If you can see it in the BIOS, that means the drive is working, but you need to initialize it. Open Disk Management on your PC, scroll down until you see the drive. It should show up as a black "unallocated" volume. Right click it and you should be able to format the drive, name it, and assign it a drive letter.

They are absolutely the best streaming box on the market. The real question is, do you have an iPhone or other Apple Devices? Because if not, your experience using it will be sub optimal, if not downright difficult. If you do have an iPhone, it's an unrivaled product. It's significantly more powerful than any other streaming box considering it's just an iPhone with an HDMI port.

DrMacintosh got a reaction from da na in What's Microsoft's/Window's modern day equivalent to Apple's free macOS creative apps like iMovie & GarageBand?
So, there isn't one. Got it. OP asked for a Microsoft/Windows equivalent to those apps. Microsoft does not ship a DAW or video editing tool. You have to get alternatives from 3rd party devs. Microsoft also does not include an offline office suite. Windows is very much a "pay up or shut up" OS for most consumers. You just bought or built your brand new PC and you can't do any work with it out of the box.

AppleTV can handle plex and jellyfish streaming if you need that. You can definitely use it without other apple devices too (though setup is easier with at least an iphone in use), I know Linus complains about in device subscription management (a lot) but I've largely found his complaints unfounded, especially in current tvOS versions.

It's expensive, but you get what you pay for. Performance and simplicity is great and they last longer than literally any other box I've used (chromecast, roku, smartTV interface, HTPC).

A Chromecast would suffice for simple streaming services if that's all you need.

DrMacintosh got a reaction from OddOod in How to add storage to SharePoint with a 3rd party reseller of Microsoft services like pax8
Purchasing extra SharePoint storage through Microsoft is crazy expensive, its $0.20/GB/m. So for 350GB, that's an additional $70 per month on the M365 invoice. But if they absolutely need it, at least temporarily, follow these steps:

Go to the M365 Admin Center -> Go to Billing -> Purchase Services -> Click Add-Ons in the "View by Category" section -> scroll to the bottom and click the Details button for "Office 365 Extra File Storage" -> Connect with your subscription -> Purchase as many licenses as you need GBs, in this case, at least 350 licenses.

There may be options to increase your available storage via third party vendors, but I know we didn't pursue that option in my office. Instead I deployed a Synology NAS and Synology Drive to host our archive of cold data, thus freeing up about half of our 1TB SharePoint storage. Synology NAS devices running DSM 7.0+ also have access to a program called Active Backup for M365 which can backup your whole M365 tenant, including SharePoint, OneDrive, and emails.

I don't think there is anything wrong with TP-Links routers. That being said, I have 2 Linksys MX4200 routers and they are great. They have some nice Wifi 6, 6E, and 7 mesh routers. The Atlas Pro and Velop models are great.

DrMacintosh got a reaction from da na in Formatting new drives gives me unremovable Microsoft garbadge
Hi all, so I noticed that in Windows 11 Home 23H2, when formatting drives, Windows will now add 3 folders to the root directory of every drive you format. Those folders are: Program Files, WindowsApps, and XboxGames. See below:

So my questions are: #1 Why? #2 How do I stop Windows from doing this?

When I hit delete on these folders, Windows does not let me and Program Files and WindowsApps remain. Only the XboxGames folder can be deleted.

When I hit format on a drive, I want that drive empty. I don't see why Microsoft feels its ok to start arbitrarily changing how computers work.

Then treat it like a game console and keep it a closed ecosystem of nonsense.
Install windows 10 LTSC and disable windows update while the machine is entirely offline. Then just your core essentials to play games. Never attach anything else to that machine.

I like my gaming pc, and I use it for some other stuff. But nothing important is on it because windows is awful and takes too much control out of the users hands. Anything important work wise is done on Linux. And anything critical for security reasons is done on an iPad.
While windows insists on “let’s finish setting up your pc” on an install I did 2 years ago, because it wants me to turn Cortana on still. Linux doesn’t do anything I don’t tell it to. And the iPad never bothers me with doing anything I don’t tell it to either.

I think this is more an issue of running out of bandwith/going over maximum displays when at a certain resolution.

DrMacintosh reacted to LIGISTX in Is it possible to get a mesh set up with a seperate dedicated 2.4ghz band
It shouldn’t matter what band the phone is on to control devices on the network.

A mesh WiFi setup is typically a great idea, but it has nothing to do with your question. Your network is just a subnet (192.168.1.1 typically), and your WiFi access point (usually built into routers) is just broadcasting that subnet wirelessly. The band doesn’t matter, devices will still be on that subnet, same as if you plugged them in with an Ethernet cable.
