  1. It's kind of hard to point you in a direction without knowing where Apple's products are falling short for you.
  2. We did it bois, launchers are now on iOS. 2 apps for 1! This is surely a much better user experience than before.

So, when are we gonna start considering nuclear…

It's less about what source of power is better, and more where are you going to build them. No matter how much you convince the public its ok, at the end of the day nobody is going to want a nuclear plant next to their house.

Veeam is looking into supporting Proxmox: https…

Veeam seems like an interesting company. We were looking into them as a M365 backup solution, but we bought a Synology DS923+ which has active backup for M365.
  5. All brick and concrete means you're going to have some significant signal challenges. Home being so old, with messy wiring, means that powerline adapters really are not viable either. Mesh is your only real option. What is the approximate square footage of your home? Knowing this should help in figuring out how many mesh nodes you might need. Personally, I own 2 Linksys Velop MX4200 mesh wifi 6 routers. These device are super solid and I can count on one hand how many times I've had to restart them. Linksys has a huge lineup of routers, anything Wifi 6 or greater from them should be a great experience. https://www.linksys.com/gb/shop/shop-home/mesh-wifi-systems/
  6. Mechanic lifted my Taurus today. Power steering fluid leaking all along the bottom of the car. Says the bump is leaking. Bummer, but better than a front main seal. There may be other oil leaks, but it’s hard to tell while the bottom of the car has atf on it.

      Fords and power steering issues.

      Name a more iconic duo...

Well at least that one is easy to top off when it gets low and will give you plenty of loud warning before anything goes really wrong with it.

  7. This Mac supports macOS Monterey. Go to the Mac App Store, search for macOS Monterey, download it, install it.
  8. A 2015 MacBook Air/Pro is about all you're gonna be able to get for $300. Not really worth it.
  9. Is this a fresh install of Windows? Have you removed your old chipset/graphics drivers? Is your memory set to beyond the base speed?
  10. What is "system latency"? Have you made sure your refresh rate is set properly on your monitors?

My damn Taurus is leaking again 😡 To date I hav…

I could do that, but my shop hasn't been charging to do these leak checks. They steam cleaned the engine for free, I drove it around for a day or to and returned it with no evidence of leaks. Again they didn't charge me for that. Even if I find out what it is, I'm going to have them do the repair, so why spend money on a leak test kit? I'm probably also going to have them do rear shocks on the car depending on how severe/how expensive it is to repair this leak.
  12. My damn Taurus is leaking again 😡 To date I have had the valve cover and intake gaskets replaced as well as the crank seal. I also tracked down a coolant leak to the lower radiator hose clamp that was loose. I had the car engine bay cleaned and checked for leaks prior to my Arizona trip. Now that the trip is over, and having put over 900 miles on the car, oil is starting to drip on the floor. Even before the previous repairs, oil was not visibly dripping on the ground. I'm taking her in on Monday to see where the leak is coming from. It better not be the timing chain cover.

If you wanna find it yourself, you can put some of the UV leak stuff into your vehicle, and then use a UV flashlight to look at it.

You could also look for any location that's wet with oil under the hood.

I agree with letting the shop do it.

Especially if it is on the house.

  13. Put 32GB of RAM in my desktop rig. 16GB was just too little. My system would be pegged at near 90% memory usage while playing World of Warships, having a YouTube video up, and having Discord open. 32GB is now overkill, but at least there is plenty of breathing room.

Imo, 32gb is the mid-high end now, and 16gb is mid-low

If someone asks me to spec a new PC, I'd totally suggest 32gb for the PC to last the next five years

I've personally been using 32gb for past three years as 16gb wasn't quite enough for me already then, but I also understand I'm more demanding than the typical user in term of computing headroom needed

Yeah and when DDR4 was $$$$ or when SSDs were $1400 for 960GB

so.. apple is giving you 4 pennies on the dollar to put your money in goldman sachs trough them, so their business grows exponentially.

or.. apple is snooping half a penny off your interest rates to fund their banking app, because goldman sachs is offering 4.5%

  17. You don't really need a NAS, what you need is a backup solution. A NAS itself is not a backup. Checkout BackBlaze. Really cheap unlimited cloud storage. They can ship out up to 8TB drives for recovery purposes. You can also download about 500GB of data at a time from their downloader.

Sadly, my Taurus just keeps leaking. Confirmed…

Well, it still has not leaked since I took it in and the guys pressure tested it. So atm, everything is fine.
  19. I'm not entirely sure how USB controllers function, but is it possible for a controller to reduce a ports speed if it runs out of available bandwidth? If it is possible, OPs USB controllers could be overloaded, and some stuff needs to be unplugged. Or its the cable
  20. Make sure your network is not blocking your laptop. I would also make sure your laptop is not set to manually target a specific DNS server. One simple sanity check would be to connect your laptop to your phones hotspot. If everything works as normal, then you know its a network configuration error.

I actually took it to the shop. They put 16psi of pressure in the system and it was holding. They crawled under where I saw the leak and could not find anything. They said it could be just leaking because the system is overfull (not likely) or it could be the water pump. The thing is, it hasn't leaked since I added a little bit of water and it didnt leak after driving it from home, to LA, then back to San Pedro.
  22. Sadly, my Taurus just keeps leaking. Confirmed a coolant leak today after driving home from work. It's really disheartening to keep taking a car to the shop, fixing something, only for something totally unrelated to start leaking again shortly after. It appears to be a loose fitting, and its a pretty slow leak. Have to just watch it until next week when I can take it in.

When you gas up, pop the hood and make sure you have water in the overflow.

I'd do this until you are sure there is no more leak.

  23. Professional Audio? Thunderbolt? Doing this for a living? Yeah, its no contest. Get the Mac mini. Every audio interface brand in the world has thought about the Mac. This is audio, so you're not going to need crazy amounts of memory. Apple Silicon slaughters audio workloads, especially if you buy Logic Pro. The Mac and professional Audio/Video just go together. The Mac simply has a better audio processing infrastructure.
