So, my step family “found” a 2015 4K iMac. Idk where they got it, possibly from a school? Idk, I didn’t ask.
I booted it into recovery to find that an attempted reinstall of macOS issued a Find My Mac ping. I quickly turned off the machine and reset it’s PRAM (in effect bypassing Find My Mac) and formatted the drive. I was then able to make a macOS Bootable USB and now the machine is ready to use.
It’s got major cosmetic problems. Chunks of aluminum are missing and the display has cracks in the corners:
Its also the most basic 4K iMac that existed. 5400rpm HDD, 8GB of RAM, and a 2C/4T Core i5 w/ Iris Graphics.
It will probably be a home PC for my step brother and step mom. It’s more modern than my Dads 2011 iMac but that iMac was upgraded with an SSD and 12GB of RAM and functionally feels faster across the board. (All he uses it for us Music creation w/ GarageBand)

Ah the old "feel off the truck during shipping" iMAC that your step family 'found'.
I hope Vinny 2 Guns isn't gonna come break your knee caps later.

@captain_to_fire Yeah but putting an SSD inside an iMac is not my ideal way of spending 2 hours.
