So, incase you were wondering how much it will end up costing Apple to fully service my MacBook Pro:

- keyboard replacement: $428.00

- bottom shell: $180.14

- screen replacement: $600 minimum

Total: $1,208.14

Price I paid for the machine at BestBuy: $1250 (before tax)

Throw in the labor cost of the screen and some more overhead....Apple will officially have made $0 and will probably have lost money on me buying their MacBook Pro.

Serves them right tbh. A thin sheet of aluminum does not cost $180.

No, they do not pay that much, but they lose that potential money.

The cost of repairs is usually accounted for in the price of the machine. Don't think that they aren't using you to subsidize your's or another person's repair.

I doubt Apple accounted for replacing literally everything in the machine expect the logic board in the initial price.

Apple released service programs for my model of MacBook Pro. Those programs are:

    -Keyboard Replacement

-Display replacement due to backlight failure (flexgate)

-battery replacement for potential expansion issues

Them replacing the bottom shell is the result of a fuckup on their part. The rest are the result of bad design. Those parts need to be swapped out as whole units so the only thing left that’s actually original is the logic board.

With the insane profit margins Apple is still making money
