Wow, so the UHD 620 is only ~30% worse than my Iris 540 graphics. I need the new base model MBP to get the Iris Plus 645! There is a decent improvement to be had there. 

(mind you that was done with OpenGL which is trash)

Yeah. That NUC essentially has the same CPU as in the i7 13" MacBook Pro w/ TouchBar. It's a 28W part. Very good CPU for the power consumption. 

Does a Core 2 duo with Gm 45 or, or too old?

That's a little older than what I was looking for  

@Den-Fi pretty much covered it since the UHD 620 is pretty much the best that Intel has in that product line.
