Got back from camping and I'm watching WWDC 2019. I just got through the iPadOS part and I must say, the iPad really does finally look like it is a real laptop replacement. Safari getting Desktop-class browsing, a downloads manager, and access to local and external storage means that the iPad is capable of doing essentially anything that a laptop could do outside of specific software.

Do we know if the iPhone gets access to the same local storage access and the downloads manager?  The iPhone having access to the same local storage and Safari Downloads manager also really elevates the iPhone in terms of technical capability compared to Android. I'm almost entirely ready to say that Android has little to no technological advantages over iOS.

Apple has always said that iOS is the worlds most powerful mobile operating system.....this year, I think they are actually right.

Let's not forget about the mouse support coming to iPadOS. It's not yet available in the first beta but Apple said it's coming in the upcoming updates.

I highly agree. Imo, when Apple showed the comparison of Android 9 adoption compared to iOS 12 adoption, the reality hit me that more people have access to better software and capabilities.

Android is too fragmented for new features introduced to it to actually change how people use their devices.

iPadOS, iOS 13, and the new Mac Pro give Apple a very strong technological position in the tech space imo. I don’t think anyone out there really is competing directly with everything Apple does.

Bring uSD capability and I'll be ready to switch... from iPhone to iPhone.

kind of an unpopular opinion, but I don't really care for sd card support or usb storage support. it's nice if they added it don't get em wrong, but like.... I have 200GB of iCloud storage and that fits all my pictures etc etc. I have no need to keep it local on my phone. I would never want to because if it got stolen I'd be screwed.

it's nice they will add support for usb storage etc to the iPhone, but I don't personally care. same with sd card support if they were to ever add it.

to say that iOS is now the most advanced OS just because of usb support is kinda weird IMO. it has so many other advantages that already made it the best (IMO).

I would like to see the iPadOS to support multiple monitors (two 4K displays at 60 Hz) since it’ll soon have mouse input, but I think it’s only possible if the upcoming A13X/A14X chips have a GPU closer to a mobile GTX 1070.

@captain_to_fire you can drive two 4K screens easily. it depends what you want to do with them what type of GPU you need.
