Taking things completely out of context I see.

    Quote

"when Sessions told the President that a Special Counsel had been appointed, the President slumped back in his chair and said, "O h my God. This is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I' m fucked ." The President became angry and lambasted the Attorney General for his decision to recuse from the investigation , stating, "How could you let this happen, Jeff?" The President said the position of Attorney General was his most important appointment and that Sessions had " let [him] down ," contrasting him to Eric Holder and Robert Kennedy. Sessions recalled that the President said to him, "y ou were supposed to protect me," or words to that effect. The President returned to the consequences of the appointment and said, "Eve ryone tells me if you get one of these indep endent counsels it ruin s your presidency . It takes years and years and I won 't be able to do anything. This is the worst thing that ever happened to me."

He said that because he hated the public image that it would put on him and the doubt people would have. Not because he was worried that Mueller would find anything.

I didn’t realize that one had to be personally affected by someone to have an opinion on them. I wasn’t personally affected by Charles Manson, still hated the guy.

To that point, Chuck Manson had a LOT less potential for disaster that the POTUS....

@Max_Settings Yes the quote is out of context. But we now know that there is plenty of evidence to prove that Trump committed obstruction of justice. Muller wrongly believed he couldn’t indict a sitting President and said the Senate should handle it.

If the Senate does not act, the GOP will show their true beliefs; that the President is above the law. If the Senate does act, it will show that the GOP still has some decency and respect for the country left in it.

All polling indicates that the people believe Trump is a criminal, the evidence proves that Trump is a criminal. All that’s left is for Senate Republicans to face facts.

Not even remotely true, but keep telling yourself that.

I don’t have to tell myself anything. Facts don’t care about your opinions.

So I'm out of the loop.

    What's going on?

Sure I did. How can you obstruct justice in an investigation into something you didn't do? Like come on you can't be this delusional.

Basically the Redacted Muller report was released. The quote I posted was from right after the Special Council that invested Trump was appointed.

The report, even the redacted version, shows that Trump is essentially guilty of Obstruction of Justice and other crimes. The report is still fresh and better coverage will be available tomorrow.

@DrMacintosh Thanks for informing me, I'll look at the report later when I'm on my PC.  A bit hard to look at it on my phone.

The right-wing went after Bill Clinton for lying and adultery, but when it's a R they won't. There's hypocrisy on both sides, and it must be rooted before we lose more of our democracy.
