Is it just me or does Nvidia Hair Works make hair look worse? Playing the Witcher 3 with it off and tried it with it on. Off looked better imo.

    I can't imagine it would look better off; Nvidia's technologies are all incredibly useful, flawless masterpieces.  Just observe this demonstration:
