    Galaxy Fold Launch Event canceled

Imagine paying $2000+ for the Galaxy Fold when you can get a better experience for half the price. Seriously, pick your favorite smartphone (in my case the iPhone 8 Plus) and just buy an iPad. iPhone 8 Plus: $699 iPad: $329 Total: $1,028 Boom, saved $1K and you have a way better user experience. The technology behind folding displays is cool and should be developed more. But the concept of a folding phone is flawed.

Thin and light laptop for travel

For basic web browsing, why not a tablet? Maybe the $329 iPad?
  4. I’m kinda into this game

You get track rack tiles (which you need to unlock new worlds) randomly whenever you fill up your coin bar. You get coins from playing, collecting from your “ports”, and completing special events.

Looks weirdly like Kingdoms and Castles, but with trains.

Microsoft releases a new programming language: Bosque

Bosque is a good name. Shame it’s for a programming language. A Bosque refrigerator sounds pretty nice.

Vega finally beats RTX? Vulkan strikes again!

Wish macOS would add Vulkan now that they have all but gotten rid of OpenGL.
  7. Ugh, don't delay backing up your Mac for 10 days. It takes forever to finish the prep when it has to make all kinds of changes T.T

yeah it takes forever. never mind the first backup when you have 300+gb of stuff on your Mac. i know from experience.

It goes by faster if you have an SSD, but USB 3.0 HDDs are terribad at random read/writes xD Also Time Machine just does not like to peg the drive with write speed.

Had a 500GB 5400rpm drive that I cloned out of a Mac once through usb 3.  Just had to walk away and let it go overnight.

What shift button do you use when typing?

I've never used the right shift key for actual typing in my life. Its easier for me to press L Shift+Z than it is R shift + Z because it's muscle memory. My L thumb does only one thing when I type: press command my R thumb does only one thing when I type: press space my R pinky pressed return my L pinky presses L shift/fn/control/option/caps lock/tab/esc my R ring finger presses Delete and also types normally The rest of my fingers type normally. Though I do prefer to use my index fingers for keys like < > /

  10. The only thing I don't like about LTT content is their phone reviews. They all come off as whiny and focus more on the bad than the good.
  11. 16 tabs open in Safari, Mail.app, Notes.app, an Essay open in Pages, Books.app, Discord.app, Telegram.app, and 2 documents open in Preview. All running on 5 virtual desktops on a Mac with only 8GB of RAM (with no page file swapping).

It's pretty handy. Especially for this kind of situation. Spreading out your resources reduces clutter and makes it easier to focus.

the thing about macOS is that it will use more ram if you have it. if i do that on my macbook with 16gb of ram it will use nearly all of it.

[Rumour?] Huawei P30 Pro "fakes" moon photos automatically?

Huawei is co-owned by the Chinese Government. That’s how most, if not all, communist “corporations” operate.

@captain_to_fire Oregon is mostly a blue state.  And yes, you can grow and consume cannabis legally here, and now sell it as well.

My internet has been down like only twice in a 3 year period of time.

      But there's actually competition here.

We use Spectrum. Internet rarely goes down, maybe once ever other month, it usually only lasts a few moments and is caused by Spectrum doing something on their end. We have Spectrum, Frontier and AT&T/DISH all operating in this area.

Garageband alternative for linux (or Windows)

Garage Band on the iPad is pretty cool. But you would just need a Linux compatible DAW. The major players in that industry don't really make Linux versions though.

It's Huawei. Their entire business model is based off of lies
  19. Rumor has it that Apple may be releasing an updated iPhone 8 style phone. I think that Apple could have such an iPhone become the new iPhone SE. The rumors of the iPhone XE could actually be this new updated iPhone 8 design.

I only say that because the 2019 iPhone lineup would be pretty crowded with a new iPhone 8 style model and an iPhone XE in addition to the previous generation iPhones.

    1. RoseLuck462

      RoseLuck462

My wish would be that style as well but with the edges flattened like the old iPhone 5 and new iPad Pros.

      That would be sexy!

After you enter DFU mode, if iTunes still does not detect the phone, the battery could be dead or the logic board could have died.

    iPhone Xs Max: $1,099

    iPad mini: $399

    Total: $1,498

You Could save even more if you got an iPhone 8 Plus or the iPhone XR. Not only do you get two separate devices, each is also significantly more effective at its role than the Galaxy Fold is.....

      Nowak

The Galaxy S10+ with 1TB storage (which is more storage than the Galaxy Fold and also probably more storage than you'll ever need on a phone) is $1600. Still less than the Galaxy Fold and also probably a billion times more durable.

Could also buy any mid range Android phone and an iPad mini and save about a thousand dollars that way if money was truly concerning. Or better yet, getting a used phone that’s a couple years old.

Sony Now Internally Regulates Sexual Content in Video Games

What don't you understand? Sony is a world wide corporation. Sony North America makes decisions like any other mega corp, with a board, with investors, and with executives worldwide. The Sony corporate office in California did not suddenly decide that all of Sony Entertainment was going to censor content. You're weaving politics (specifically blaming California) in a corporate buisness decision. Why are you so intent on pinning it on California?
