  1. Hi all, I have a small 500GB boot drive and a much larger 1TB storage drive. I am trying not to install software on my boot drive in order to keep it from overflowing. Unfortunately, when I go to install Microsoft Office 365, it does not give me any options as to what disc to install it on. By default, it installs it on my boot drive and takes dozens of gigabytes of space. Is there a way to direct the Office 365 installation to install on my storage drive instead? Daniel
  2. Do you really think the cable mod cables would cause a whole computer to shut down during high usage? I worry its the PSU.
  3. Hi Ikea, thanks for responding here. My temps do not seem to be an issue. When playing Rainbow 6, my CPU usage is nearly 100% but the temps are around 65C. My GPU has a high usage as well, but the temps are also 50-60C. My case is a Lian Li with 9x fans pushing air, so I don't think this is a temperature issue. My PSU is (maybe was?) a quality unit, a Corsair RM1000X. It was purchased in 2017. Also, I use CableMod sleeved cables. My computer shut down twice while playing Rainbow 6 yesterday, so I'm getting more and more concerned. Please let me know if you have any thoughts.
  4. Hi all, I have a high-end gaming PC which has run well for a year or two. In the last few weeks, it has randomly shut down on its own. The shut down is complete - the ram LEDs are off and the system does not restart. It tends to happen while gaming, but not always. I'm trying to come up with a plan to trouble shoot this. I'm keeping an eye on temperature, but that seems fine. I'm wondering if it is my PSU, but unsure how to check. My computer is, after all, a power hog. Can anyone please make any suggestions as to how to trouble shoot? Is there a way to monitor power consumption? Is there a way to get an error log from immediatley before the shut down? System: - AS Rock OC Forumla Radeon 6900XT - 9x RGB fans - 4x RGB 8gb G.Skill Trident Ram - AMD 5600X - Corsair RMx Series, RM1000x PSU
  5. Hi all, So I'd usually buy a 3080TI but the prices are insane and I hear the value proposition is poor. I've heard that a Geforce 3060ti is a great bang for your buck card, but am not as well versed. Usually, I just pick the top of the line and move on but since that's not an option here, I need your help. What are your thoughts? Should I hold out to buy a 3080 at some point (last time I saw prices were $2k!) or just get a 3060ti and call it a day? System Specs: AMD 5600x Asus ROG Mobo 32gb DDR4 Ram Water cooled with tons of airflow 2tb M.2 1080ti
  6. I've double, triple, and quadrupole checked and it does. I can tell you, specifically, it is different typing here in this forum than on word. Here, when I hit control+backspace, only the prior word is deleted. The space is not. This is not the case in Word and I haven't edited anything. If you have any recommendations, I AM DESPERATE to hear them.
  7. Hi all, I've been plagued by this issue for nearly fifteen years. It may seem minor, but when you're typing hundreds and thousands of words a day, it becomes incredibly frustrating. If anyone could help, I would be in your debt. Issue: at some point roughly fifteen years ago, Microsoft Word altered the "ctrl + backspace" command. Prior to the change, ctrl + backspace deleted the preceding word only. About fifteen years ago, they changed it so that hitting ctrl + backspace deletes the preceding word and the preceding space. Unfortunately, try as I might, I have never become accustom to this. Whenever I am typing and want to delete the prior word, I hit ctrl + backspace, expecting only the preceding word to be deleted. I then begin typing the next word, only to see that I should have started by hitting spacebar instead. For example, let's say I type "this is incredibly frustrating," and I want to delete the word frustrating and replace it with annoying. I hit ctrl + backspace, expecting only the word "frustrating" to be deleted. I then begin typing, and it looks like this: "this is incrediblyannoying." In other words, Word no longer just deletes "frustrating" but deletes "_frustrating." I then have to press the delete key several times, hit space, and resume. While this may seem minor, it happens hundreds of times a day (I guess I delete a lot of words...) and it's gotten bad enough that I think I should reach out for tech support. If anyone has any info on this, literally you may have solved a 15 year problem for me and I would greatly appreciate it.
  8. Hi all, I'm looking for a simple online polling software. I'd like the participants in our zoom seminar to vote one on of three options. I want the (1) number of people who voted to be hidden and (2) people can only vote once. Any ideas? Survey monkey is $99/month which I think is a bit much for just running ONE poll.
  9. My system is unstable and I want to replace the CPU. I just need that much for work. Gaming can come later.
  10. Budget (including currency): Country: Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi all, I'm building a new rig and need to purchase my CPU. I can wait on the GPU for a 3080ti in the future. Anyways, I haven't been able to find a 5600x anywhere. I already have my fans / case sitting in my living room and need to chose my CPU / Mobo etc. Any thoughts on when 5600x will be available if at all?
  11. Hi all, I'd like to order Lian Li Uni (modular attachable fans) but am having difficulty finding them online. I would prefer to purchase from a large name or well known retailer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
  12. I'm looking to take advantage of the CPU/GPu connection with AMD. Will be waiting for "big navi" Is RX6800 big navi?
  13. This looks like it! How do I go about finding a 5600x? It seems sold out everywhere
  14. lol OK this seems a bit overkill. I was thinking a AMD Ryzen 5600x... I don't do productivity so I don't need all the cores. I already have a 1000wt PSU... Corsair H150 AIO... 32GB of Trident GSkill Memory... etc. The processor / motherboard are really my concerns. When sill 5600x be available?
  15. I spent $3k total on the last rig. But that also had $100's of RGB fans. Price is not an issue here. The reason I say "occasional gaming," is because an injury prevents me from playing daily. Still, I want 2k @ 144hz on AAA titles so... yea enthusiast build it is
